Scout Calendars To Be Given to Local Youngsters All cubs, scouts and explorer scouts of Jackson and Josephine counties will receive official Boy scout calendars next year, H. D. Chistcnsen, president of Crater Lake Area council, announced today. The calendars are from the original painting by the noted painter, Norman Rock well. They portray a cub, boy scout, explorer, air and sea scout facing together a "bright future for our country in spite of the storm clouds that hang over the world today." Through scouting, these young men will be able to help to build a greater country and a better understanding of the world in the future, Christensen said. Every registered boy will re ceive one of the pictures to hang in his home as a daily reminder of his part of the responsibility of living in our country and the world. The calendar has had the largest distribution of any in the United States over a period of several years. The calendar of the Dionne quintuplets has been the closest of any other calendar in numbers placed in homes. Movie Advertising Target in Clean-Up Hollywood, Apr. 20 (U.PJ A congressional investigator op ened an inquiry into Hollywood morals by conferring with a high industry executive on ways to clean up movie advertising. Judge Stephen S. Jackson, making an on-the-spot check for Sen. Edwin C. Johnson (D., Colo.) conferred yesterday with Dore Schary, production head of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios and chairman of the motion pic ture industry public relations committee. Jackson and Schary described the meeting as "Informal and amicable" but did not reveal what was discussed. Schary said he would arrange a meeting be tween Jackson and other motion picture industry council mem bers, i The Investigator said he would confine his probe to efforts to prevent unfavorable exploita tion" of scandals in movie ad vertising.
