1 1 Outstanding Grapple Card on Tap Tonight What Is expected to be the best wrestling card of the year is on tap at the armory tonight when Mack Lillard presents his star-studded three-ply program, starting at 8:30 p.m. The main event will send Pete Balcastro, the wild Weed Italian, against the Great Atlas m a grudge match to end all grudge matches. Pete, who is easily irked, is really roiled Pointers Vie Home Friday i Central Point high will be host to Myrtle Creek on Friday and Eagle Point high .travels to Sutherlin on Saturday lor J-D-J league baseball games this week-end. The game at Central Point will start about 3 p.m. and the one at Sutherlin about 2 p.m. This past Tuesday afternoon ihe Eagles swamped Central Point in a J-D-J get-together for their second win against two losses while Friday last week Illinois Valley edged Central Point. A week ago tomorrow the Eagles lost to Myrtle Creek. Bowerman Track Team Scheduled Eugene, Apr. 20 Another 1 busy week faces Oregon's spring sports squads at the 1950 North ern Division schedule swings into the second round. Coach Bill Bowerman s track squad faces Washington State at Hayward field Saturday in what should be one of the better dual meets in recent years. The Cou gars are undefeated in 19 straight starts and are also the only northern division squad to defeat a Bowerman coached Oregon team. 1 Coach Bowerman has high hopes that his cripples. Jack Hutchins and Bill Fell, will be in toD shape for the Cougars. Hutchins has been hampered by a bad leg for two weeks ana Fell missed last week's meet with Idaho with a muscle injury. i The meet is rated as a tossup and one of the largest track crowds in recent years is ex pected to be on hand. over treatment dished out to him by the strong man In last week s tag match 'and has announced that he plans to waste no time in evening the score tonight. The Atlas, on the other hand, figures Belfastro a push-over and so informed Lillard when the match was in the making. The Weed walloper doesn't con sider himself a push-over for anyone and the remark just added more fuel to the fire as far as the Californian is con cerned. It can't be denied that the At las is a fine wrestler when he wants to be, but he usually would rather turn to the dirty stuff. Belcastro is no slouch when incomes to fine points of the game but he also isn't a cream puff when the slugging and eye gouging starts. , A maWi which could hold the main event spot on any card in the country is slated for the mid dle spot. It pits Leo Mallick, he of the vicious pile driver, against Lee Grable, Los Angeles flash. Wallick is the guy who put Grable on the shelf for some time recently with a leg injury and Lee would delight over a chance to cool his adversary. They have grappled three times recently in Portland with their last match there beaking all wrestling atendance records at the Labor Temple. The opener promises as much action as each of the other two bouts but it will be of a differ ent kind. The principals, George Strickland and Ted Bell, are smooth operators who combine a bag of tricks with a lot of speed in their bouts. Saltzman, Ex-Portland Hurler, Sent San Diego New York, Apr. 20 U.Pj Six Dlavers were returned to the minor leagues and two others added to major league rosters today.
