Newlyweds Home From Wedding Trip To San Francisco Central Point Mr. and Mrs. Roland Pacey, married March 28, have returned from a wed ding trip to San Francisco and are at home on Beall lane. Mrs. Pacey is the former Thais Gor den. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester C. Gorden, Freeman road, Central Point, and the bride groom is a son of Mrs. Alex Tummers, route two, Central Point. The wedding ceremony took place in the parsonage of First Methodist church, with the Rev. Meredith A. Groves officiating and Mr. Gorden giving his daughter in marriage. The bride wore a white suit with navy blue accessories for the wedding, and her corsage was of white hyacinths and red rosebuds. Mrs. Chester James, aunt of the bride from Medford, was her attendant. She was at tired in a light green suit and her flowers were pink carna tions. Al Nordquist of Medford was best man for the bridegroom. A small group of relatives and close friends were present for the ceremony. The bride was graduated from high school in Central Point and later attended Southern Oregon college. She has been employed by the Central Point Telephone company. Mr. Pacey attended Balboa high school in San Fran cisco, was graduated from offi cers' training school in Alameda and later was on duty with the maritime service. ItSO MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE SEVEN President Attends League Convention n Atlantic City Mrs. E. S. Philips, president of the Medford League of Wom en Voters, will leave tonight for New York and Atlantic City to attend the annual convention of the national league. Mrs. Phil lips will be accompanied by her sons, Douglas and Scott, and the trip east will be made by plane. The three will spend a week in New York With relatives, and will then go on to Atlantic City. A national plan of work will be adopted for the league dur ing the convention, and election of new national officers is on the agenda. Speakers will in clude Economic Cooperation Ad ministrator Paul Hoffman, who will address a dinner meeting on the foreign trade gap and its meaning for the United States. James H. Rowe Jr.. a member oi the Hoover commission, will speak on the Hoover commis sion recommendations with spe cial reterence to proposals on conservation of natural re sources. This is one of the pro gram suojects to come before the convention. Another convention highlight will be an international evening with guests from Italy, Sweden, Lebanon, Greece. Iceland. Ger many, Japan and the Philip pines, ivnss Anna i,ord Strauss, retiring national president, will tell of her trip she made last summer with the Round the World Town Meeting. As a representative of the Ore gon leagues, Mrs. Philips has been asked to enter an "idea contest" during the convention. Mrs. Philips will portray the Portland league's "cigaret girl" idea for selling publications at luncheon meetings, using the Guild Will Plan For Hospital Day Plans for observance ot Na tional Hospital day May 12, will be made by members of Provi dence Guild of Sacred Heart hospital at a meeting of the. group Monday, April 17, at 8 p.m. in the Girls' Community club. Miss Gertrude Malloy is president of the guild.
