Wagner Creek Wagner Creek, Apr. 13 Wag ner Creek Sunday irhool is growing again since the inclem ent weather is past. April 2 the attendance was 38. Thirty-five turned out taster Sunday. Five birthdays were honored March 31 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Layton MacDowell when the monthly Sunday birth' day party was held there. The youngest member having a birth' day in March is little David Ar- nett. It was his first birthday. The Bailey twins, Nora and Laura, Joan MacDowell and Mrs. Edna Hopper also had birthdays last montn. The doctor reported Carlos Goddard's leg condition steadily improving when he went to Eu gene for a cneck-up March 31. Carlos discarded his crutches in December and now gets around with but a very slight limp which it is expected will soon be gone entirely. Funeral services for Wayne Bradley who died at the Med' ford Community hospital April irom injuries wnicn he re ceived in a logging accident the day before were held Friday at 1:30 at the First Methodist church in Ashland. The Rev. Alice May Woolley officiated. In terment was in the family plot at Sterns cemetery. Surviving are his wife Rachel, two children, Lois and Glen; a sister, Mrs. Hen ry Slagle, Brookings, Ore.; two brothers. Merle, his twin, and Dave, both of Prospect. Wayne attended Wagner Creek grade school and Talent high school. Everyone who knew him was his friend. Mrs. Henry Slagle is staying for a while with Rachel and chil dren. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Boquist from Tillamook, Ore., were guests April 3 at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Ormy Goddard. Overnight guests at the Leon Lockwood home on April 7 were Mr. ard Mrs. Merle Bradley, Prospect. Mrs. Ella Abbott who has been visiting her daughter, Eudell, in Gridley, Cal., for several weeks returned home April 8. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hild had Mr. and Mrs. Waltmore, Coleman creek, as Easter guests. Mrs. Waldemire, upper room teacher, spent her Easter vaca tion at home except for short trips to Azalea and to Yreka. Mrs. Stack was absent for a week while in Pueblo, Cal., when her brother passed away. Mrs. Ring substituted for her as lower grade teacher. Baseball equipment has been purchased and practice has be gun. Wagner Creekers hope to have a team to compete with other schools. Mrs. Inch helped give achievement tests April 11. Mr. and Mrs. Davis and fam ily from Hawthorne, Cal., are now living in their upper Wag ner creek home which they pur chased recently from Mr. and Mrs. Charles Long. The Longs have moved to their new home on Wagner creek road near Tal ent where her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Briner, will loin them as soon as their apartment Is finished. Clayburn Hurd formerly of Myrtle Creek, now living near Talent, spent last week witn Donald Brabbin. The health of both Mr. and Mrs. Dave Brabbin is reported greatly improved. New neighbors are the Clay ton family on the John Gast place who moved here recently from Pendleton where they moved not long ago from Alaska. Mr. Clayton is engaged in the dairy business. Mr. and Mrs. William Bag ley and children had Easter dinner with Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Grove, Phoenix. J. W. Bailey's 88th birthday was celebrated Ajril 9 with a special dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bailey, his son and daughter-in-law.
