Win in Hockey
Montreal, Apr. 7 U.P Curly
haired Goalie Chuck Rayner was
treated with praise aplenty to
day as the New York Rangers
celebrated their triumph over
the Montreal Canadiens in the
semi-finals of the National
Hockey league playoffs.
The surprising Rangers moved
into the Stanley cup finals last
night when they dumped the
Canadiens, S to 0, thus wrap
ping up the best-of-seven series,
four games to one.
The Rangers, of course, do not
know whom they will meet in
the cud finals, as Toronto still
needs one more victory over De
troit to wrap up the other semi
final series.
The Leafs took a commanding
oosition last night when they
downed the regular-season cham
pion Detroit Red mgs, 2. to U.
