63rd IVedding Anniversary Observed By County Couple Playtime Is Here Rogue River Mr. and Mrs, John W. Garrett celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on March 19 and were dinner guests at the home of their son, Ward Garrett, on Pine street. They were married at Paul's Valley. Oklahoma, in 1887, which was the town nearest the railroad construction camp, in which they lived. Mrs. Garrett remembers that her father. Jonathan Marney, was grading the roadbed for the railroad which was being con structed from Arkansas City, Kan., to Gainsville. Tex., at that time. The couple lived in Kansas un til 1019, when they moved to Oregon, bringing with them their youngest son, ward, tignt of their children remained in Kansas, when they left but some have since moved to the west coast. The Garretts proudly exhibited two prized pictures, one a tintype tatcen when tney were tirsi mar ried, the other a picture of tne three Garrett brothers, John W. Garrett of Rogue River, age 89, W. E. Garrett of Redwood High way, age 91 and Edward Garrett of Virginia, age 68. The picture was taken three years ago when Edward came west to visit, and the brothers met after a separa tion of more than 40 years. Among the friends who called at the Garrett home during the day were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Young whose wedding anniver sary falls on the same date. University Students Spend Vacation Here Several University of Oregon students will return to the Ore gon campus today after spending spring vacation in Medford. Miss June Bosworth was home, and with her as guests were Miss Jacque Dilley of San Diego, Cal., an art student, and Miss Joan Barnes, Burlingame, Cal., a busi ness administration student. Miss Bosworth majors in sociology. All three are seniors and mem bers of Chi Omega sorority. They were with Miss Bos worth's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan P. Bosworth Jr., of East Main street. 9020 U SIZES III Director Announces Rehearsal Schedule For Little Symphony Ashland Glenn Matthews, di rector of the Southern Oregon Little Symphony orchestra, an nounces that no rehearsal will be held Monday, March 27, but that rehearsals will begin again April 3. The orchestra has not been rehearsing since a recent concert. Mr. Matthews announces that new members for the orchestra, particularly string players, will be welcomed. 4th Century Baptistry Found In Bulgaria Sofia, Bulgaria (U.PJ The re mains of one of the oldest build ings in ancient Sofia have been unearthed during construction work here. An ancient baptistry (building in which baptism is performed) from the early fourth century A. D. was excavated in central Sofia. It has a baptismal basin, marble walls and marble stairs. This building is regarded as the most ancient of the Christian era ever unearthed here. Joint Installation Set By Woodcraft Neighbors Of Three Valley Cities Phoenix At a recent meeting of the Neighbor of Woodcraft lodge of Phoenix plans were made for an installation service to be held at their hall in April. Both the Medford and Ashland circles will join by bringing their officers to Phoenix for installa tion, with Mrs. George Drake of the local order acting as instal ling officer. Committees appointed to have charge of the arrangements of the affair: Reception, Mrs. Enid Caster, chairman, Mrs. Lillian Coleman, co-chairman; decora tion. Mrs. Helen Norris, Mrs. Jewell Parr.
