SIXTEEN MEDFOBO (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Actress To Tell Of Plans For Own KYJC Radio Show June Storey, Gene Autry's leading lady in numerous Re public western movies and now a resident of the Eagle Point dis- MM June Storey trict, will announce plans for her own Medford radio show during a broadcast Tuesday eve ning over station KYJC from the Cratcrian theater stage. At that time she will also pre sent prizes to winners in the McLain's Drug center contest for the original Amateur Hour. The actress In real life is Mrs. Fred Bohling. She and her hus band and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Fidler arc partners in the oper ation of Junad dairy along Rogue river. Miss Storey entered pictures at the age of 17 when she signed a six-yer contract with 20th Century-Fox. Although best known for lead ing roles with Autry and Ken Curtis, she has been acclaimed by critics for supporting per formances in "Girls Dormitory" with Herbert Marshall, "Strange Woman" with Hcdy Lamarr and "The Snake Pit" with Olivia Dc-, Haviland. Her portrayal of Grctchen in the picture "In Old Chicago," Is considered out standing. Miss Storey also appeared in several Broadway productions and on well-known radio shows such as "Ellcry Queen." KYJC will broadcast her new show. Orchid Grower Tells Of Hobby E. R. Hoppe. Medford orchid grower, described his work Thursday in the second of a se ries of "coffee chats" at the li brary at the veterans administra tion domiciliary center at Camp White. Hoppe told of the pleasure and profit that a hobby may bring. He outlined his reasons for tak ing up orchid culture as recrea tion from a taxing profession and finally for making it a full time occupation. Plants Displayed A display of plants In various stages of development was ex hibited. Stout, Cecil Nelson New Night Class Schedule At SOC Told By Registrar Southern Oregon College, Ashland, March 18 Several new night classes which will be of fered by Southern Oregon col lege during the spring quarter have been listed by Mrs. Mabel Winston, registrar. One of these, Elementary School Principal (education 450) taught by Dr. John McAuley, will begin Monday, March '11 and continue on Mondays through the quarter. It will give three credit hours. Methods and Materials in Teaching Ceramics (education 408a), will be given by Irwin Whitaker for three credit hours. Photography Class Lloyd Pennington will in struct a class in photography starting Tuesday, March 26 for two credit hours. There will be lectures and a laboratory period each week. Other new classes will be Group Leadership and Parlia mentary Problems on Tuesday nights and School Organization and Law on Thursdays. Five night classes offered dur ing past quarters are being con tinued. They are Orchestra and Business Law on Mondays, Shakespeare Tragedies on Tues days, Contemporary Problems on Wednesdays and Advanced Fed erated Folk dance on Thursdays. E. W. Drcnnan and A. B.
