Cody, widow of Barney W. Cody, Jacksonville, passed -away in a local hospital Friday. Funeral arrangements are in care of Conger-Morris funeral home. DOUGLAS LEWIS Services for Douglas Raymond Lewis, age 10, Jacksonville Phoenix highway, who died Wed nesday as the result of a bicycle auto accident on the Griffin Creek road, will be held in Conger-Morris chapel Monday at 10 a.m. with Elder O. "Ss. 5?,", r Absentee Yofers Data Given For Election Monday, March 20, is the ear liest date the county clerk may accept applications for absent voters' ballots for the May 19 primary election. By May 8, or 10 days before the election, the clerk shall have mailed official ballots to absentee voters who have applied for them. The bal lots must be marked and re turned to the county clerk in the elector's home county by May 13. five days before the election. This time table for absentee voting is contained in the digest of Oregon election laws for 1950. The digest defines an ab sentee voter as one who is ab sent from the county or his le gal residence on the day of an election, one whose residence is more than 15 miles from the polling place in the precinct of his registration, or any qualified elector who is physically unable to attend the polls in person. Andy Christensen Rites Held In Watsonville Andy Christensen, a resident of Oregon for 20 years and who resided in Medford for the past five years, passed away March 15 in San Jose. Cal. He was a member of Watsonville, Cal., lOOF lodge. Surviving are his wife, Marian, of Medford; two sons, Sherman of San Jose, Arthur of Watson ville, and a daughter, Marie Kerr, San Francisco. Interment was in the family plot in the Watsonville cemetery. TO AID MORSE Ashland. Night, Mar. 18 Small Penalty For Not Wearing Something Greeji Friday, March 17. 1950 Range Discussions Held With Foresters Three more meetings of cattle associations using grazing lands in Rogue River national forest were held this week with forest service personnel to discuss range reseeding and Improve ment problems and to elect officers. - Wednesday the Summit Prair ie association met at Butte Falls to re-elect William Bigham presi dent, and Ted Fredenburg secretary-treasurer. The association also adopted a resolution oppos ing a proposal by the Butte Falls Rod and Gun club to stock for est lands in that area with elk. On Thursday forest service of ficials met with the Fish lake association, which is not formal ly organized, and with the Big Butte association. The Big Butte group named Herman Meyer president and Gordon Stanley secretary-treasurer. Ranger M. L. Tcdrow said there are about 15 cattle asso ciations whose members hold grazing permits in the national forest. The next annual meetings for other groups will be held in about a week.
