Other members of the crew were Co-Pilot Frank McDonald and Flight Attendant Harold Fayerweather. Scout Window Scenes Judged By Leaders Results of the judging of win dow displays created by Boy scout and Cub scout troops and packs this week were announc ed Saturday by scout officials. The units made displays of vari ous phases of scouting work for exhibit during Boy Scout week. Judges in the competition were Arch Brown, Dick Daniels and John Patton, neighborhood commissioners. Ratings of the units were Cub Packs 2 and 6, and scout Troops 7, 8 and 10, efficient; Pack 10, and Troops 3 (Kigmy and Schmoo patrols), 5 and 18. and explorer Post 8, standard; Troop 9, participating. Three Candidates, Maybe Four, Seek Sheriff s Job There were three avowed can didates for the position of sher iff of Jackson county at the end of last week, with the status of another possible democratic can didate still In doubt. Bert Simmons .Central Point, who had announced the week before that he would seek the democratic nomination in the May primary election, withdrew earlier last week after being in formed by the county clerk's of fice that he was not eligible to become a candidate because he had lost his registration by fail ure to vote. But a letter addressed to the Portland Oregonian by a state representative last week some what beclouded the issue. How ard Morgan, representative from the Joint Clackamas-Multnomah district and democratic candidate for state labor commissioner, said he had written the law gov erning the situation, and added that in his opinion Simmons was fully eligible to seek election on the democratic ticket, provided he had been a registered demo crat before his registration lapsed. There had been no word from Simmons up to late Saturday but it was understood that demo cratic party leaders had been en couraging him to challenge the county clerk's ruling on the mat ter. If he were to do so, and if he were successful, he would be the fourth candidate in the field. Those who have announced their intention of running are in cumbent Sheriff Howard Gault, and Ray Marks, a real estate and insurance broker, both re publicans, and Delroy Aldershof, a city police officer and demo crat. C. Lyall Fidler, who has also been prominently mentioned as another possible candidate, said Saturday that he has decided not to enter into condidacy for the sheriff's post in the primary election. He cited as his reasons the fact that he was last week elected to the presidency of the Medford Realty board, that the state convention of realtors will be here next September and that Ray Marks had filed for the republican nomination. He made no comment In re gard to his previous statement that he might file as an inde pendent candidate following the primary election.
