Shingles Stolen Ten bundles of shingles, belonging to Fred H. Baker, 1122 West Fourth street, were stolen Saturday night from a building site on Columbus ave nue near Fourth street, it was reported yesterday to city police. To Hospital Mrs. Amy Clev enger of Central Point entered Mast hospital at Myrtle Point, Ore., today for surgery. Prior to entering the hospital she spent several days at the home of her son, Glenn Putnam in Myrtle Point. Meeting Important Officers of the Medford Navy Mothers' club today reminded members 'that the meeting scheduled for tomorrow is to discuss matters of vital importance to the group and members are especially urg ed to be present. M of the 32nd (Red Arrow) Division's 126th Infantry regiment, has been pro moted to staff sergeant, accord ing to a news release from Brom ley's unit. Entering the army in October, 1944, he saw action on the Villa Verde Trail, in northern Luzon, Philippine Islands. Pieper's new assignment will be with the in formation and education section, Eighth army. His wife and family are residing at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Flsk, on the Phoenix Jacksonville highway. Soldier Leaves Pvt. George Rutherford left this morning for Camp Pickett, Va., where he will be assigned to European duty, after spending an 18-day fur lough at the home of his par ent, Mr. and Mrs. George Ruth erford, 14 West Jackson street KPvt. Rutherford, who was grad uated from Medford senior high school with the class of 1945, en listed in the army last October for three years of duty in the European theater. He received his basic training with the 13th cavalry at Ft Knox, Ky. Pvt. Rutherford's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Erickson, and children, of Olym pla spent the week-end at the family home here in order to be with Pvt Rutherford before bis departure. The U. S. Department of Arl--nHur will resume publication of Its yearbooks of agriculture late In 1946 or early in 1847. The first yearbooks was Issued in 1895. Music Education Found Useful For Youth Problems Lincoln, Neb. (U.R) Music education may be useful In solving juvenile delinquency problems, according to State Superintendent Wayne O. Reed. Music stimulates group ac tivity, and helps solve many of the problems which result from the surplus energies of youth, Reed explained. The superintendent stressed that music education should take a larger place In the life of the community.
