Mukden, said today that the red
army has removed heavy ma
chinery and equipment from
some Mukden factories in ac
cordance with a Big Three
agreement,
Stankevitch made the state
ment to a group of foreign cor
respondents. He said authoriza
tion for the removal was con
tained in either the Yalta or
Potsdam agreement, but he
couldn't remember which one
offhand.
Evidence Seen
The Russian general's state
ment came during a frank ques
tioning, by correspondents who
had visited several Mukden-factories
under soviet control with
out formal permission. One fac
tory visited was the important
Kosaka Kaisha, biggest machine
tool plant in Manchuria.
Correspondents found plenty
of evidence that heavy machin
ery and equipment had been re
moved. They confronted Stanke
