He landed In the French girl's farmyard when his plane was hit by flak and he had to parachute. Tha policeman on duty at the Brockton police station was somewhat mystified when the serviceman wove his way In and called loudly for a beer as he plunked down a quarter. "We don't sell beer here," he told the customer. "This is a police station." The soldier Insisted he was In a barroom and, when an MP arrived on the scene, he doubled the order to two beers.
