ignoramuses. Nature manages
to keep the breathing, and the
heart running fairly well with
out prodding with strychnine,
digitalis or what have you. But
we Yankee Wiseacres know from
way back that it is absolucly
necessary to take something or
do something to force action of
the bowel every so often we
know because the quacks and
nostrum mongers have been din
ning that suggestion in our ears
for centuries.
My advice to mother in this
instance, as in many other in
stances like it, is so simple that
it doesn't stand the chance of a
snowball in you know where of
being accepted and followed. It
is this: Never again speak of or
inquire about the child's bowel
acton or lack of it.
That's all.
Could anything be simpler
or more sensible?
Stop pestering and worrying
and frightening the child about
the state of the bowels.
