Couple Arrives Mr. and Mrs
F. A. Shinn of Boise, Idaho, ar
rived here Thursday to make
their permanent homt in this
city. Shinn, connected with the
U. S. Reclamation Service in
Idaho, will assume a post with
the reclamation service here. He
is a navy veteran.

American Wheat
Will Feed Japs
Tokyo, Feb. 15 (U.R) Allied
headquarters today authorized
the delivery of 2,000,000 pounds
of American wheat and flour to
the Japanese government to re
lieve .shortages in Japan.
The economic and scientific
section of supreme headquarters
said the flour was surplus army
stores and part of a 5,000,000
pound supply shipped to Tokyo
from Manila for Japanese consumption.

For Mrs. Bailey
Services for Mrs. Margaret C.
Bailey, wife of Elm O. Bailey,
route 1, Central Point, were held
in the Conger-Morris chapel at
1:30 p. m. today with the Rev.
W. A. Dawes officiating. She
passed away in a local hospital
Sunday following. an illness of
several months. Interment was
in Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Experiment Bomb
Will Be Dropped
From Navy Plane

The atomic bomb which will be
used in the navy's May experi
ment will be dropped from a
naval fighter plane flying from
the 28.000-ton aircraft carrier
Shangri-La, the San Diego Journ
al said today in a copyrighted
article.
The Journal said the Shangri
La has been conducting experi
ments up and down the coast for
more than a month. The fighter
will be a Grumann F6F, with
specially constructed bombing
equipment, the Journal said.
