He held the rank of car penter's mate, third class, while in the service. Wave Promoted Savella May Davidson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Davidson. 1139 West Ninth street, has been advanced to the rating of chief yeoman while stationed at the Corpus Christi, Tex., naval air station, according to word received last week by her parents. Yeoman Davidson, who is to be in the service until September 1, Is the first Wave to be advanced to a chief rating at the Texas air station. The mother is 20. PASSES IN K. F. Myron W. McVay, former Medford business man who left here in 1932 to live In Klamath Falls, died suddenly last night in a Klamath Falls hospital of a reported heart attack according to information received here by his sister, Mrs. Alice Seman, 204 Genessee street. McVay was but 52 years old. Mrs. Seman stated that funeral arrangements were pending word from other relatives. In addition to Mrs. McVay and a son, McVay is survived by his sister here and two brothers, Robert N. McVay, of Tacoma, and Lewis H. McVay of Vallejo, Calif. Closing tlms for Sunday Too Late to Classify 4:00 Saturday afternoon Please remember LAST OF TURKEYS SENT TO MARKET The final turkey shipment of the season was made today by the Blue Moon company of San Francisco. The shipment, con sisting of about 4,000 birds, cleans up the local market. In some sections of the coun ty, turkeys have started to lay but for the most part have been held back by the cold and rains. Some producers are keeping the brood turkeys in warm and light ed coops which increases laying. It is expected general laying will start in another week or ten days. The turkey crop in Jackson and Josephine counties last sea son was estimated at around 125,000 birds. It is not expected to be as large the coming year.
