Plans will be made dur- ing the. meeting for the Home 7 makers' Festival. 1 Stamp On Sale The Roose velt commemorative five cent postage stamp went on sale at the Medford postoffice today, Postmaster Frank DeSouza said. , The stamp is of light blue and carries a picture of the late president, Franklin D. Roose velt, along with a picture of the globe with the wards, "freedom of speech and religion, from want and fear." Police were told the purse was lost on the west side of the ci(y business district. Widmer Discharged Francis X. Widmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. X. Widmer, Route 4, returned home last week following an honorable discharge from the navy at San Pedro, Calif. In the navy more than two years, Widmer held the rank of quarter master, second class, and served aboard the USS Louisville in the Pacific theater, for which he was awarded 10 bronze battle stars. He was graduated from St. Mary's academy in 1038. ALEXAlERRITES 2 PIU Funeral services for William Edwin Alexander, lone time resi dent of Central Point, will be held at the Perl Funeral Home at 2 p. m. tomorrow with inter ment in the Odd Fellows ceme tery at Central Point. The Rev E. Gilbert Cays will officiate. The deceased was born in Ringgold county, Iowa, on April 24, 1859, and came to Central Point in 1907. He was employed for a time by Freeman and Wiley, implement dealers, later taking a partnership in the firm. In 1928, when the firm dissolved partnership, Alexander went into business for himself. In 1881 he was united in mar riage to Miss Ida Cochran in Missouri. She preceded him in death in 1929. Mr. Alexander was an active member in the Church of Christ in Central Point and served as an elder of that organization for many years. He also was an active member of the Odd Fel lows and the Modern Woodmen of America lodges. Left to mourn his passing are a daughter, Mrs. Hallie Hessel- grave of Central Point; two granddaughters, Mrs. Lotis Nolte of Los Angeles and Mrs. Letha Ward of Eugene; and a grandson Larry Nolte. OBITUARY MARGARET C. BAILEY Margaret C. Bailey, 28, wife of Elm O. Bailey of Central Point, Rt. 1, passed away in a local hospital Sunday. Mr. Bailey was recently discharged from the army.
