At San Pedro Carl Winkle bleck, S2c, is now at San Pe dro, Calif., for two months' training before being assigned to sea duty. The young- man, at home during the holidays, was then transferred from San Diego to San Pedro. Ford, Jacksonville Highway Capt. Ford was stationed . near Calcutta, India, during most of last year flying the "hump" to Kunming, China. He made one trip to Shanghai, three to Man ila and a 3,100 mile non-stop flight to Australia. JANUARY 31 DEADLINE FOR EX-ARMY OFFICERS January 31 is the deadline for enlistment of former officers of the army and of the national guard reserve, it was pointed out Saturday by the army recruiting officer. Officers who were discharged after June and before Nov. 1, 1945, may be enlisted in the first grade provided enlistment is accomplished before Jan. 31. the recruiter stated.
