Eberhart is Eugene representative for the New York Life Insurance com pany. Veterans To Meet Members of the local post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will meet at the Veterans' building, Front street and Sixth street at 8 a. m. Sun day, Jan. 13, for work on their new home. Hot coffee and weiners will be served to the workers at noon. Expected Home Robert Col ley, AOM, is expected home soon to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. Colley, route 4, box 176 A. Colley has been with the naval air force for the past two and a half years and was re cently promoted to his present rank. He is en route to the United States from Okinawa by plane. Another son, Bill, is ex pected home soon. He recently returned from the South Pacific. ' Discharged Sgt. Sanford M. Cohen, husband of the former Miss Thelma Kaplon of Medford, arrived in the states New Year's Day and received an honorable discharge from the army at Ft. Dix, N. J. Jan. 6. Sgt. Cohen, who served four and one-half years, spent 13 months in the European theater of operations. After visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius H. Cohen in Pittsfield, Mass., he will leave for the west coast. Mrs. Cohen plans to meet the sergeant in Portland. Teachers To Meet Both the Jackson county Intermediate Teachers' council and the Jack son county Teachers' council will meet Jan. 12 in the courthouse here, the primary council to gather in the auditorium. Both meetings are set for 10 a. m. Mrs. Lurene Nye, president of the intermediate council states that the topic for discussion is the teaching of arithmetic in the intermediate grades while Mrs. Wilda Franks, teacher at Oak- grove school, will give a de monstration In second grade reading .for the meeting of the primary council.
