Swartz arrived Thurs day to spend the holidays with Mr. Swartr' parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Swartz, 121 Gen essee street. Kenneth Swartz is employed as an interior decor ator at Paramount Studios. The visitors will return south about Jan. 1. To Leave Sgt. Martin B. Webb. Jr., will leave Jan. 6 for Ft Lewis for reassignment with the army after spending several days here with his wife at the family home, 1208 Baling ave nue. Sgt. Webb's last assign ment was on the staff of the Stars and Stripes, army news paper, In Honolulu. 1 Relatives Here Clarence Starcher, Blue River. Ore., ar rived in Medford Sunday to spend the holidays with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bren H. Starcher, Route 1. Expected here this evening are Mr. and Mrs. James Rlfen bereck and daughter, from Chi cago, who will also be guests of the Starchers. Mrs. Rifenbereck Is a sister of Mr. Starcher. Visiting Parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis arrived in the city last night from Eugene and are visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Davis. 830 Bessie street, and Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Vallair, Cave Junc tion. Mr. Davis is attending law school at the University of Ore gon Also arriving at the Davis home last night was Mrs. Anita Scripter, Vallejo, Calif. Mrs. Scripter will also spend some time at the home of her parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Scrip ter, 60 Rose avenue. Her hus band, SSgt. Kenneth E. Hood, son of Mrs. Alice Hood, 127 Almond street, Medford, has arrived In the United States from Manila and plans to visit his mother here after spending the holidays with his wife and family In Portland. Light Stolen The theft of Christmas lights Saturday night from the homes of C. R. Moore, 1808 East Main street, and How ard Bush, 202 Barneburg road, was reported to city police yes terday. Both light sets were be ing used as lawn decorations, police said. Sergeant Home Sgt, Nichol as Benjamin arrived in Medford yesterday to spend Christmas with Mrs. Benjamin and their small son, Nicholas, II, at the family home, 317 South Orange street. The sergeant, overseas 21 months, was last stationed on Okinawa. Autos Collide Cars operated by H. P. Jewett, 16 Pine street, Central Point, and D. H. Pruett, route 2, were damaged consid erably at 12:15 a. m. today when they collided at the Intersection of Stewart avenue and highway 99, according to accident reports filed with city police. Visit In Gold Hill First Lt. and Mrs. Linsley B. Dorman and small son are in Gold Hill to vis it the officer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Dorman. Lt. Dor man has just returned to this country a f te r spending 17 months overseas with Gen. Pat ton's third army. He will be dis charged from service in February. e Student Home Miss Helen Humphrey, student at St. Helen's Hall, Portland, Is in Medford to spend the holidays with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hum phrey, Geneva street. Mrs. Humphrey motored to Portland last week, accompanied by Mrs. John. McCabe and daughter, Eleanor, to bring her daughter home. - Change Data Howard J. Nel son,, manager of the Klamath Falls office of the bureau of old age and survivors' insurance of the Social Security board will be in Medford Friday of this week instead of Wednesday, the usual date, a communication from the Klamath Falls office states. Nelson will be at the of fice of the United States Em ployment Service, 45 North Fir street, after 9 a. m. Friday. Fanger Home Clifford Fan ger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fanger, box 57, Jacksonville Star route. Is spending the holi days with his family while on Christmas vacation from the Western Baptist Theological Seminary at Beaverton, Ore. An other son of the Fangers, Frank lin, recently discharged from the army air force, will leave after the first of the year for Corvallls, where he will con tinue studies at Oregon State College. Kun Home Pfc Walter R. Kurz, 1059 Court street, arrived home Sunday after two years of active duty in the Pacific area. He wai given an honorable dis charge from the service at Ft. Lewis, Wash. Kurz, who was twice wounded during the Phil ippine campaign, at present is with his wife, the former Betty Richards and their daughter. Barbara, 22 months old, whom ; he had never seen before, at the home of Mr. jand Mrs. L. A. Richards, Mrs. I Kurz' parent. Car Tire Slight damage by fire was caused the cushions of a car parked at Sixth and Fir streets last night, city firemen reported today. Origin of the fire was unknown. Moffets Here Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Moffet of Berkeley, Calif., are spending the holidays at the home of Mr. Moffet's mother, Mrs. Gertrude Moffet, 612 South Newtown avenue. Mr. Moffet, recently discharged from the service at Camp Bcale, Calif., served in the army for about four years and spent an extended period in the Pacific war theater. He held the rating of technical sergeant. Wiring Connected In Central Point Legion Quarters Central Point, Dec. 24 Wir ing was connected and tempor ary lights installed at the Amer ican Legion hall here yesterday by a group of volunteer electri cians from the Medford electrical workers union local number 659. Installation of permanent fix tures awaits completion of the Interior of the building. The group strung wires and conduits two weeks ago. The volunteer electricians un der supervision of L. S. Ettenger were Harvey Malot, Orln Wy man, Frank Smith, George Thomas, Robert Ettenger, Hank Bray and Dave McGuire. Halboth, former well known Medford physician, has been released from the army medical corps and has returned to Medford to reestablish his practice here. Dr. Halboth, who held the rank of captain, was stationed for more than three years at Camp Beale, Calif.
