Holds Election;
Dinner Is Given
Mrs. William B. Clcgg was
named president of St. Mark's
Auxiliary-Guild at the annual
election Tuesday during a meet
ing at the parish house. Retiring
president is Mrs. N. D. Rowe.
Mrs. D. O. Hood was elected
first vice-president; Mrs. H.
Gates, second vice-president;
Mrs. Victor Morgan, secretary,
and Mrs. Aletha Vawter, treas
urer. ' Installation of officers will be
held at the meeting set for Jan.

A Christmas program was
presented, with the girls' trio
from senior high school singing
and other appropriate numbers.
Gifts were exchanged. Hostr
esses for the meeting were Mrs.
H. C. Goldsmith, Mrs. Robert
Holmes and Mrs. Nelle Osborne.
The Auxiliary-Guild members
entertained their husbands and
about 25 men from engineers'
troops recently arrived at Camp
White and navy personnel from
the camp hospital at a dinner at
the parish house the evening of
Dec. 15. The parish had been
decorated with a Christmas tree,
holiday evergreens and each ta
ble held lighted candles and
holly. Husbands assisted with
serving.
The Rev. George R. Turney
led community singing, with
Mrs. Fred Strang at the piano,
and John Eads, magician, was
presented.

orations' committee and on the

Held Last Week
By Local Lodges
Odd Fellows and Rebekahs en
tertained with the annual Christ
mas party for children of mem
bers Thursday night, with Roger
Cram and Florence Klatt serving
as co-chairmen.
Little Jerry Ivle, aged two
years, gave a welcoming speech
and A. J. Hanby delivered the
invocation. Carol Davis pre
sented an accordion number,
Katherine Gott gave two piano
numbers and Jeanne Klatt a
reading. Accordion solos were
also presented by Denny Bate
man. Maxine Powell, Reta Rogers,
Carol Davis, Joan Anderson,
Marian Dorf, Edna Keoler and
Barbara Vance gave group ac
cordion number and also played
for carol singing.
Santa visited the hall and pre
sented each child with a Christ
mas treat. A Christmas tree
and the traditional greenery de
corated the hall.
Olive Rebekah lodge held the
annual yulctide party Monday,
with Ina Huson and a committee
planning the program. A Rebe
kah chorus sang carols, Laura
Wicker and Ethel Pease read a
Christmas story and Marian
Ward also gave a reading.
Ethyl Weed gave the story of
the first Christmas tree in
America.
In the chorus were Mary
Cave, Lucile Cave, Julia Greg
ory, Ethyl Weed, Laura Wicker,
Leah Ivie, Bessie Hubler and
Ella Gould.
Gifts were exchanged and a
committee headed by Julia Greg
ory served refreshments.

Jr., who have left Medford to
make their home in Vlsalia,
Calif., were honored at a fare
well party the evening of Dec.

at the Bouck home, 21 Portland
avenue.

club, Junior Chamber of Com
merce and Sheriff's Posse, while
Mrs. Meyst was active in the
Lady JayCee group.
