TWO MEDFORD MAIL-TRIBUNE Thunder, Dec 13, 1945 GUEST AT LOCAL YULE-LUNCHEON Ernest C. Park, Redmond, lieutenant-governor of the Ki wanis club, was a guest at the annual Christmas luncheon meet ing of Hertford Kiwanlans and Kiwanian Dames held yesterday noon at the Holland hotel. Park spoke briefly. Also Introduced were Adj. Charles K. Cox, form erly of this city, John D. Niles, Roy Harker, S. II. Bouck and Z. O. Dent, Klamath Falls, educa tion representative for the Vet erans' Administration. Glen Fabrick, president, con ducted the meeting and It was announced that the two groups would make the annual Christ mas visit to the county hosoital Dec. 19. At this time gifts will be presented the patients and carols sung. During the meeting It was an nounced that Mrs. E. H. Edger ton would be presented the Ki wanian Dames Christmas doll. The doll, with its wardrobe, will be displayed for the coming week at the Chamber of Com merce. J. E. Earlcy, former president of Medford Kiwanis club, was here from Eugene for the meeting. It has also increased the local and county sales. Christmas pear packages are now being dispatched from this city at the rate of 15 to 20 express and refrigerator cara dally ac cording to Major Morris of the Medford Ice and Storage com pany and other sources. The new order was effective Wednesday. Cases requiring specialists not avail able at the Camp White hospital will be moved to Portland. All veterans must clear through Dr. L. D. Inskeep, in the Medford Center building, it was stated. Pins were presented to the following Legionnaires for their work in signing up new mem bers during the past year: silver stars, Chaplain A. J. Anderson, Fred Strang, Charles Wiley and Lester Mathes. A gold star and a silver star was awarded to Walter Reinklng. An American Legion district convention will be held in Grants Pass, January 26 and 27. All Southern Oregon Legion naires are urged to attend. Progress Reported In Small Levy For Museum At J'Ville Clarence C. Meeker, chairman of Sons of the American Revolu tion committee sponsoring the establishment of a southern Ore gon museum in the old court house at Jacksonville reports good progress is being made in preparation of the ballot title lor a small tax levy to be voted upon by Jackson county resi dents in the May primary. The levy will be used to make need ed changes in the pioneer build ing, provide cases and shelves and hire a curator. It Is also planned to incorpor ate with the Oregon Historical society early next year, as a branch, and thus have the sup port and advice of the parent organization.
