Pay, Me'lford chairman of the annual drive, announced yesterday. A number of churches are carrying printed notices on their programs, endorsing the drive, which finances all work for eradication of tuberculosis, including the mass chest X-ray prosram to be offered here this week. Handy, Red Cross field representative for first aid, accident prevention and water safety, from San Francis co spent Friday and Saturday conferring with Maurice Ted row, Medford, county first aid chairman and Robert Dodge, Ashland, county water safety chairman. Because of the post war in crease in traffic accidents on a national scale the Red Cross is completing a survey and inspec tion of all Highway Emergency Aid Stations. Mr. Handy visited the station at Prospect in charge of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Grieve, Shady Cove in charge of Elinor Mce and Mrs. Seggcssenman, Brownsboro, handled by Mrs. Vera Wright and A. R. Rutledge and Siskiyou Patrol Station, in charge of Miss Vera Lutz. The Rogue River Station has been recently closed since Mrs. Mil ler is now teaching. Mr. Handy approved plans made by Mr. Tedrow for open ing of several new stations in the county, and tentative ar rangements were made for a first aid instructors school in January to be held in both Med ford and Ashland. LIDA LU HUBBARD Mrs. Lida Lu Hubbard passed away at her home on South Riv erside early Saturday morning following a short illness. Mrs. Hubbard was born in Roanoke.l West Virginia, on January 17. 1881. She has been a resident of Medford for the past 36 years. Funeral services and a complete j obituary will bo published later.
