Captain Home Capt. Charles E. Overmeyer has arrived in Medford after 43 months over seas in the Southwest Pacific and is spending a leave at the home of his parents,' Col. and Mrs. O. L. Also reported as damaged slightly in an accident Wednes day was a car driven by C. Holmes, 2015 East Main street, when cars operated by Holmes and Bessie M. Bartels. George I. Brown, Herbert L. Edwards, Emil C. Hunemiller, Lyle E. Jar min, Aldo Roselli, Galen H. Shaw, Marion G. Thomas, Wil mer L. Wallace and Boyd Whitt. In Picture Appearing with the 77th infantry division in the film '"Story of G.I. Joe," now be ing shown in Medford, is Pfc. Ernest W. Beer, whose wife. Margaret, and son, reside at 305 Beatty street. Beer, now in Japan with the 81st engineers battalion, was stationed near Culver City, Calif., at the time of the filming. Hunemiller Discharged Cpl. Emil C. Hunemiller of Rogue River was honorably discharged from the army at Camp Beale. Calif., Nov. 18, according to in formation received from the camp today. Hunemiller, in the army nearly four years, went overseas in February of 1S45 and was attached to the 98th bomber group. He wears three battle stars and a unit citation. Yocom Releaied S. Sgt. Rob ert L. Yocom was released from the army air force Nov. 14 at the Drew Field separation sta tion at Tampa, Fla., according to a release from the field. Yo com, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Yo com, 416 Laurel street, served overseas from January, 1945, un til July in the European theater and holds the air medal, two oak leaf clusters and the ETO rib bon with two stars. Attending College Two new members of the student body at Lewis and Clark college, Port land, are John Logan, son of Chester Logan, Rogue River, and the Rev. Everett Bowers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dana W. Bowers. 20 Laurel street, Medford, a news release from the college states. Logan, returned veteran who spent three and one-half years in the army, is a special student at Lewis and Clark. He attended Medford and Sams Val ley high schools before he en tered the service. The Rev. Bow ers, pastor of the Beaverton Methodist church, is a religious student. Explanation Made For the benefit of those planning to at tend the open house and tea to morrow being given for Miss Percy Gill, Red Cross worker, it was explained today that the Episcopal parish house where the affair will be held is the for mer MarKade. The tea will be from 3:30 to 5 p. m. and is be ing sponsored by the Auxiliary Guild Red Cross sewing unit of St. Mark's Episcopal church. Miss Gill will speak during the affair, telling of her war work on the Hospital Ship Seminole. It is stated by those in charge that all Red Cross volunteers, board members and the present Red Cross staff at the naval hos pital at Camp White are urged to attend even though unable to make reservations as indicated previously. Brooks, 20 Valley View drive, to erect a new residence and garage at a cost of $5,000 and Neva Holman, 1211 West Main street, to reshingle a garage at a cost of $75. Firemen Called City fire men were called to the home of C. M. Worthley, 618 Dakota ave nue, at 7 p. m. yesterday to ex tinguish a flue fire which re portedly caused no damage. Another run was made yester day afternoon to the grandstand at the ball park where a small trash fire was extinguished shortly before firemen arrived. Ward Returns Charles Ward, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bowdish, 1216 Sunset avenue, returned to Medford yesterday following an honorable dis charge from the navy at Brem erton, Wash. Ward, a chief boatswain's mate, served over seas with the 9th seabee bat talion in both the European and Pacific theaters, that unit being the first seabee battalion to serve in both theaters. In the navy 44 months, Ward worked for some time on Wake Island before entering the service. Veterans Here John Mar- lette, former aviation machin ist's mate, 2c, returned to Med ford yesterday from Terminal Island, San Pedro, Calif., where he received an honorable dis charge from the naval air corps. Marlctte spent 16 months in the Pacific theater. Arriving with Marlctte was former pharma cist's mate, 1c, Jack Marshall, who planned to leave the city today for his home in Eugene after spending a short visit at the home of Marlette's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
