Society To Meet Jackson county Medical society will hold the November meeting at the Hotel Jackson in Medford. Dr. William W. P. Holt will be host for a 7 o'clock dinner and Dr. E. A. Woods of Ashland will give the paper of the evening. In School Miss Adcle M. Von Lubken of Medford is enrolled this fall in the largest incoming class in the history of the Uni versity of Denven, Colo., accord ing to en announcement from the university. The corporal has re ceived an honorable discharge from the marine corps at Camp Pendleton, Calif., after 27 months in the South Pacific area. Lodge To Meet Talisman lodge No. 31, Knights of Pythias, will meet Monday at 7:30 p. m. Instead of the usual meeting time of 8 o'clock, James Stewart, chancellor commander, has an nounced. The half hour post ponement is to allow for prac tice by the Knights of Khorassan for the ceremony to be held Sat urday in Yreka, Calif. Extension To Meet Oak Grove extension unit will meet Tuesday at 11 a. m. at the home of Mrs. Lawrence Crocker, Jack sonville highway. Subject will i be "Making Kitchens More Liv able," with Miss Marian Farrell, county home demonstration agent, giving a demonstration. A pot-luck luncheon will be served and anyone interested is invited to attend. Evanson Home Edward C. Evanson, former storekeeper, 2e, returned to Medford Friday from Bremerton, Wash., where he received an honorable dis charge from the navy Seabees, and is with his wife and son at the family home, 718 West 14th street. Evanson, with the navy three years, served 27 months with the 51st and 134th Seabee battalions in Dutch Harbor, Alaska and in the South Pacific theater. ! Staples Return Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Staples, former Medford residents, have returned to Med ford to reside after spending the past three years in Portland ( where Mr. Staples was supervis or of transportation for the Wil lamette Iron and Steel company. ! Staples announces that he will re-open his office here for Con-j rad, Bruce and company in ; Room 313 Fluhrer building.: The couple will reside at 1435 Euclid avenue, their former address. Discharged Robert L. Mullln, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Mullin, 209 South Orange street, has been discharged from the navy at Camp Elliott, San Diego, Cal. Before going overseas Mullin served In Florida, Virginia ond California and served overseas In French Morocco, North Afri ca, for 11 months. Girl Injured Harriet Castle man, eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Diller Castleman. route 2, box 18-C, was taken to Sacred Heart hospital Friday for treatment of injuries sustained when she was struck by a car driven by Albert W. McBeath, route 4, according to reports from city police and the hos pital. The girl is reported re covering satisfactorily. Cart Damaged A car operat ed by Berry J. Albright, Jr., 216 Haven street, was damaged slightly yesterday morning when in collision on highway 99, near the Bear Creek inter section, with an auto operated by Ida Bcebe, route 2, according to an accident report filed with city police. Also reported to police was 8n accident Friday night four miles north of Cen tral Point on highway 99, where cars operated by Bill Rose, 10 Keeneway drive, and Ike Orr, Medford, collided causing con siderable damage to the car Rose was operating. Amount of damage to the Orr auto was not stated. Crowson Home-R. W, Crow son, former Medford resident, arrived in a California port last week after 23 months in the South Pacific with the navy. Crowson, storekeeper technician third class, will report to a sep aration center for discharge from the navy this week and following his release from ser vice, he and Mrs. Crowson plan a trip. Later he will report for work with the personnel de partment of the Shell Oil com pany in Martinez, where he was employed before the war. The veteran Is a son of Mrs. W. L. Gray, Martinez, former Medford resident, and is a graduate of Medford high school. Dr. 0. A. Welsh announces the removal of his offices to 320 Medford Center Bldg.
