Jacket Stolen A tan leather jacket belonging to S. Fellows, 1158 Court street, was reported stolen last night from Fellows' auto, parked near a business house on Bartlett street, city police said today. Cars Collide Considerable damage was caused cars operat ed by Herman H. Marrs, 221 Haven street, and W. R. Colvin, Vancouver avenue, when they collided Tuesday afternoon on highway 66, near Keno, Ore., according to an accident report on file with city police. Mrs. H. H. Marrs, passenger in the Marrs auto, was reported slightly in jured. Kresse On USS Hancock Lt. (jg) Walter Kresse, Jr., of Medford, served as a torpedo plane pilot based on the carrier USS Hancock which recently was on the west coast for navy day, a navy dispatch states. He holds the navy cross for scoring a direct hit on a large Jap carrier in the Inland sea near Kure and the air medal and two gold stars in lieu of additional medals for flights over Kvushu. Okinawa, Wake, Hokkaido and Honshu. Returns S. Sgt. Warren M. Long, formerly with the Third Infantry Division of the army. who participated in the African Sicilian, Italian and Southern France campaigns and who spent 36 months in the European theater, is now spending a 90 day reenllstment furlough at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sereyka, Route 2, Box 302. Upon completion of the furlough S. Sgt. Long returns to the European theater for duty with the occupation forces. Lieutenant Here Lt. Robert Hinman of the naval air trans port arrived in Medford yester day from San Francisco after seven months in the Pacific theater. He is visiting his wife and daughter, who arrived here about three weeks ago after spending several months in Pennsylvania, at the home of Mrs. Hinman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Drury, 1009 South Oakdale avenue, and also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hinman, 336 South Holly street. Lt. Hinman will leave Sunday for Seattle where he Is to be released from service. A chief motor machin ist's mate with the sever.th fleet, Bowers saw service in several parts of the Pacific theater, including the battle of Leyte, where he was wounded. Logan Discharged Follow ing 18 months active service with the 9th air force in the European theater, Glenn Logan, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Logan Talent, returned home Monday from Ft. Lewis, Wash., where he received an honorable discharge from the service. Toward the close prices were irregularly lower with sales vol ume less than in the previous session, although above the million-share level for the 31st con secutive full session. As stocks turned irregular, farm commodities extended their recent advances under leader ship of rye futures in Chicago and New York cotton. Rye rose as much as 5 cents a bushel to a 20-year high, while other grains had gains ranging to 2V4 cents a bushel in oats. In the stock list while the general trend was lower, many leaders stoutly resisted pressure, including American Telephone, which added a point to yester day's 4-point rise and held half the gain. Preliminary closing Dow Jones stock averages; Industrial 191.72, off 0.32; Railroad 62.46, off 0.79; Utility 37.89, off 0.06; 65 Stocks 71.67, off 0.33.
