Riverside Phone 3146 Washington, Oct. 20 (U.R) You too can still be a soldier, and if you are a healthy male between 18 and 26 you can al most count on it. Selective Service does know the war is over, all right, but says the duration isn't. So draft boards will induct 50,000 men this month and many more each month until congress or the aimy and navy decree otherwise. Youngsters turning 18 will take care of half this quota. The rest will come from men not yet 26 who previously have been de ferred. If you're under 26 and have children, your draft board( will give you "preference." That means you get the call anyway if there are not plenty of non fathers to fill it. Some Deferments Deferments are possible for men whose work is in support of the national health, safety and interest. This means whatever your draft board says it means, ordinarily.
