Navy Man Discharged Fol lowing an honorable discharge from the navy after three and one-half years in the service, Ed ward McFarlane arrived in the city yesterday from San, Bruno, Calif. As a coxswain on board the USS Concord, McFarlane served three years in the Pacific theater. He and his wife reside at the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Sterigere, 319 Jeanette street. Irrigation Unneeded So Season is Closed The irrigation season closed Oct. 1 In the Rogue river, Coun ty Watermaster Clinton Smith reports. The season officially ends Nov. 1, but as there is noth ing to irrigate and no water to do it with, the closing will be a mere formality. Watermaster Smith said, due to the may rains there was a sufficient supply of water. The only shortage was in the Talent district at the tail-end of the season.
