Washington, Sept. 15 OJ.R) In the greatest movement of troops and war supplies in his tory, the army moved 7,306,000 soldiers and 126,859,000 ship tons of cargo out of United States ports to win World War II. The war department tonight presented figures for December, 1941, through August, 1945, showing by ports' how U. S. might flowed to the far battle fronts. Pacific ports handled slightly more than half the vol ume of men and materials ship ped from Atlantic and Gulf ports combined, the war depart ment said. Its figures did not in clude men and cargo moved by air, and did not reflect the navy's war effort. The tremendous transportation job done by Pacific ports was disclosed for the first time. New figures were published for At lantic and Gulf ports, extending information published June 17 covering the war interval up to the end of April. New York handled about two thirds of the personnel and half the cargo for the Atlantic and San Francisco about the same proportions for the Pacific. Youngs Return Mr. and Mrs. Harry Young, Ross Lane, re turned this week from a two week vacation with friends in Seattle. While north the Youngs toured the Seattle area and Van couver and returned to Medford by the coast route.
