"Nurses To Meet To meet with Mrs. Linnie Laird, Port land, executive secretary of the Oregon Nurses association, board members of district four will hold a dinner meeting at the Medford Hotel Friday at 8:30 p. m. Corporal Discharged Cpl. Emil linger, formerly of Eagle Point, has been honorably dis charged from the army after aervlng three years with the Eighth air force in the Euro pean theater. The corporal, now making his home in Ashland with his wife and son, Bobby, holds nine bronze battle stars and a presidential citation. . : At Camp Roberts Pvt. Ger ald Warren and Pvt. Robert Boyer of Medford are now tak ing basic army training at Camp Boberts, Calif. Pvt. Warren's mother, Mrs. Louis Putman. 330 Haven street, has returned to Medford after visiting with the two young men having joined them at the home of her sister In-law, Mrs. Don Lindner and family at San Francisco. I To Train Veterans A pro gram for training veterans as piano tuner-technicians, at gov. ernment expense, has been de veloped by the manpower train ing committee of the National Piano Manufacturers' associa tion, according to information re ceived in Medford. Depner expected to leave today for Billings, Mont., where they were called by the illness of Dr. Depner's mother. They plan to be away two or three weeks and the doctor's office in the Fluhrer building will oe closed during that time. Glenn Home Pfc. James Glenn, who served the past 21 months with the 91st division in Italy, arrived in Medford Sun day to spend a 30 day furlough with his mother, Mrs. William Schulr, 402 Park avenue. Glenn has been awarded the good con duct medal, the combat infan tryman's badge and four bronze battle stars. Pamphlets Arrive A sunply of the Reconstruction Finance corporation booklet "How To Do Business with R.F.C." has been received at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and may be had by calling at the office, it was stated today. The booklet, which lists surplus property, has been much in demand by local business men. Lounsberry Here Mr. and Mrs. Phil Lounsberry spent yes terday in Medford visiting rela tives and renewing acquaint ances. Lounsberry, who until 1933 was circulation manager of the Mail Tribune, now resides in Pasadena, Calif., where he is engaged in government work. They are en route to Portland and Vancouver on a vacation trip. A brother, George, who formerly was a baker at Fueh rer's Bakery, has recently been discharged from the army and came to Medford with the Louns berrys. He plans to make his home here.
