Schneiter-Roberts Rites Solemnized In San Francisco Leaving M e d f o r d Thursday for San Francisco were Mr. and Mrs. David D. Roberts, 32 Rose avenue, their son, Lieut. Com mander Richard S. Roberts, U. S. navy, and his fiancee, Miss Virginia Schnclter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Kemp of Dallas, Tex. Lieut. Commander Roberts and Miss Schneiter were to be married Saturday noon at the Palace Hotel in San Fran cisco. The couple were guests of the navy man's parents here for a week before the group went south. Wedding arrangements were made by Miss Schneitcr's sister, Mrs. Henry Albright of San Francisco. Attendants were to be Mrs. W. W. Henderson of Santa Rosa, another sister of the bride-elect, and Lieut. Dale M. Roberts, U.S.N.R., of San Fran cisco, brother of the groom. After the wedding, Lieut. Commander and Mrs. Roberts will go east to Pittsburgh and New York, and then to Jackson ville, Fla., where he will report to the naval air station. Zuleima Temple Plans Meeting In Grants Pass , First stated meeting of the fall session for members of Zuleima temple, Daughters of the Nile, will be held Saturday, Sept, 8, at 2 p. m. at the Grants Pass Ma sonic temple. Mrs. Harry Nord wich of Mcdford, Queen of the tempi, will preside, and the meeting will honor past queens and charter members. The busi ness meeting will be followed by a social hour and tea. Ker fiance Is a graduate of Santa Barbara State College, and will tench industrial arts In a Junior high school at Long Beach this school year. Hi served with the air corps for reveral months before returning to school at Oregon State College last Janu ary, for post graduate work. He is a member of the Oregon State chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, edu cation honorary group. Hol brooks Hosts At Dinner Party For Miss McBee Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Holbrook entertained at a dinner party Wednesday evening at their home, 119 Crater Lake avenue. In honor of their son's fianccci Miss Jacquelynn McBee. Miss McBee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. McBee, Old Pa cific highway, and her marriage to Staff Sgt. Warren Holbrook Is phnned for this fall. The ser geant recently returned to this country after serving in Eng land nine months, and Is now stationed at Sioux Falls army air base in South Dakota. Guests at the dinner Included Mr. ond Mrs. A. J. Ohm and Mrs. Walter G. Thorsell and son. Mark, of Portland, former resi dents of Medford who have spent the post week visiting at the Hol brook home, and Mrs. Dougal Young and daughter, Marcln, of San Rafael, also former Med ford residents. Inman. who were married in Carmel, Calif., Aug. 1. Mrs. Inman is the former Eleteth McQuilkin, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. E. R. McQuilkin of Pacific Grove, Calif , and Dr. Inman Is the son of Mrs. M. A. Inman" of San Francisco. The wedding took place in the Church of the Wayfarer at Car mel, and Dr. James Crowther read the services at 4 p. m. be fore a group of friends and rela tives of the couple. A reception was held afterward, at the home of Mrs. Herbert Kohner, a close friend of the bride. Miss Mc Quilkin wore an aqua colored suit with matching hat and white butterfly orchid corsage. After a trip to Pebble Beach, the couple came north by way of the Redwood highway. Mrs. In man attended San Jose State College and taught school at Carmel before her marriage. Dr. Inman received his degree as a doctor of veterinarian medicine at Texas A & M college, and is employed with the war food ad ministration ns an inspector of meat at the Medford Meat com pany. Mona Klukkert And Wade Coulter Engagement Told Mr. and Mrs. G. Bernard Klukkert, Ashland avenue, an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Mona, to Pfc. Wade Cou'tcr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Coulter of the Meadows. The wedding will be an event of lale spring. Miss Klukkert attended school in Central Point and Medford. Her fiance attended the Sams Valley schools before entering the army. He Is in com mand of headquarters battery, 547th anti aircraft battalion. Johnsons Return From Vacation Trip In North Dr. and Mrs. F. H. Johnson have returned from a months va cation spent in Seattle, Wash., and Victoria, B. C, with their son-in-law and daughter, the Rev. and Mrs. Leonard Chapln Brom. E. Millard in the Chapel of the I Rocks and Roses, before about 130 guests. i The bride, given In marriage 1 by her mother. Mrs. Diana Pear son, wore a light blue dress with corsage of gardenias and baby breath. Her matron of honor, Mrs. Juanlta Reynolds, wore a gold colored gown and gardenias. James Reynolds was best man. At a reception held after the wedding, Mrs. Helen Beagle of Susanville, Calif., the bride's aunt, and Miss Maxine Pearson, sister of the bride, served. Cpl. Regan has served for 38 months In the South Pacific with an army air force unit. The couple left Medford Tuesday for San Francisco, where the cor poral will await reassignment. Marc Jarmin And Portland Girl Married Wednesday The wedding of Miss Marilyn Larsen of Portland and Staff Sgt. Marc B. Jarmin, Jr., took place last Wednesday evening at Grace Memorial Episcopal church in Portland, with a re ception afterward in the parish ! hmme Sgt. Jarmin returned to the states from Europe the middle of this month. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Marc B. Jarmin, Sr., formerly of Medford where Mr. Jarmin owned the drug store now operated as Taylor's Penny wise drug store on East Main street. The family moved to The Dalles. Ore., last January. Grandparents of the sergeant are Mr. and Mrs W. H. Jarmin. 814 l Sherman street, and an aunt Is Mrs. M. W. Jarmin, 823 Sherman street. Sgt. Jarmin, a Medford high school graduate with the class of 1942, attended Oregon State col lege one year before entering the army ski troops. He trained at Camp Hale, Colo., and Camp Swift, Tex., before leaving last December for overseas duty with the mountain forces in Italy. Cannons Visit Friends, Guests At McDuffe Home , Lt. (jg) and Mrs. Arthur Can non, former Medford residents, were house guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul McDuffee, 1701 East Main street, from Mon day until Friday of last week. Portland, and Raymond P. Hickey of Boston, Mass., were married Wednesday evening at St. Mark's Episcopal chapel by the Rev. George R. Turney, rector of the church. The service was read at 8 o'clock. Maid of honor was Miss Jean Burdette. Also present were Miss Alice Wooten and Mrs. Kenneth Jones, nee Laura Bil lings, class mates and close friends of the bride. Miss Coffin wore a grey checked suit with black accessories and a corsage of lilies. The bride was graduated from Medford high school In 1944, and attended the Southern Ore gon College of Education in Ash land last year. Mr. Hickey re ceived a discharge from the army recently after serving sev en years, part of the time over seas. He was stationed at Camp White for a few months, and was lately ranked as a sergeant. Mr. and Mrs. Hickey left after the wedding for Klamath Falls where they will make their home for a few months. Grants Pass Girl Weds Sgt. Duncan In Medford Rites Miss Virginia Doreen Sims, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Her bert A. Sims, Grants Pass, and Tech. Sgt. Woodson Vaden Dun can of , Portland were married Tuesday evening in a double ring ceremony at the Chapel of the Rocks and Roses in Medford. The Rev. D. E. Millard officiated. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a brown suit with corsage of gardenias and roses. Miss Doris Eva Sims, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a pink suit with rose bud corsage. Cpl. Howard D. James was best man. Guests included Miss Lee Mc Glothlin, Miss Virginia Lovell. Mrs. LaGrone, a graduate of Medford high school, entered the navy in November, 1943, and reported for duty at Kahului naval air station with the first group of WAVES transferred to the Territory of Hawaii. Her previous station was the U. S. naval air station at Atlanta, ua. Mr. LaGrone enlisted in tne navy in April, 1942, and was sta- HrtnpH at. Pearl Harhnr before taking a training course at air craft turret school in Jackson ville, Fla. He was ordered to duty at Kahului in November, 1944. Mrs. Marsh Returns Home After Visit In Portland Mrs. H. E.
