Your Health and It's Care ' By DR. WILLIAM BRADY. M.D. Readers should address Inquiries toi Dr. William Brady. 265 CI C amino, Beverly Hills. CalU. A WEE NIP Nutrition authorities estimate that the normal individual, man, woman or child, requires a min imum daily in take, allow ance or ration of from 50 to 15 0 micro grams of Io dine in one form or anoth er, to maintain good health. A microgram is a wee, wee bit one thou s a n d micro grams in a mil Dr. Brady ligram and approximately 65 milligrams are equivalent to one grain. Don t bank on my arith metic (I never do myself), but in a single drop of Mild Tincture of Iodine there is approximately 300 micrograms of iodine. In each tablet of Iodin Ration there is approximately 150 micro grams of iodine, enough to sup ply the minimum requirement for most people even if they get no additional iodine in food or water. In like manner girls who mope in their 'teens, feel too tired to play or work or study, appear pensive and even moody at a time of life when they should be gay and cheerful, should eat three Iodine Ration tablets daily for two or three months, and af ter that one a day the year around. Many girls in their 'teens, and some boys of the same age, present only these manifestations of iodine defic iency and little or no enlarge ment of the neck. Men and women approaching middle age commonly develop the following complaints or manifestations without any ap parent thyroid gland enlarge ment as a result of long contin ued iodine deficiency: Chronic tired feeling and lack of usual or former ambition, encrgv or pep, a state little if any relieved by a rest or a vaca tion, a tendency to accumulate flabby excess weight, depression of spirits and a bleak or almost melancholic frame of mind, pre mature graying and falling of hair and other signs of prema ture aging, mental torpor, poor circulation as evidenced by cold hands and feet and a desire for ZERO CLUB Out ot bounds, civilians only Delicious chicken and (teak dinners 7:00 p. m. to 3:00 a. m. except Sunday. Once more, please keep in mind that I recommend the Io din Ration as an essential of good nutrition. In no instance do I advise any one to take iodine or an iodide as medicine. Every man, woman and child re quires a wee nip of iodine to maintain good nutrition and good health. Here I merely urge the special need for it on the part part of youngsters who mope in their 'teens and adults around forty who go stale and feel like eighty.
