(Mrs ). The correspondent rambles on, page after page, like that, and, darn it, I become so absorbed that I waste enough time read ing it and thinking whether or how to advise about which ques tions time I have no right to waste like that, when there are scores of other letters that com ply with instructions, waiting to be answered. Still, I admire and feel proud of the way this fine Yankee (North American) moth er carries on. Her courage and spirit makes a good many whin ing, weak, poorly educated pampered young womert seem miserable creatures indeed I mean young women who are concerned mainly with such sub jects as prevention of concep tion, so-called birth control" and "planned parenthood." Having wasted so much time' i on the correspondent's letter I sent her an answer to the ques tions she did not ask, to wit, my opinion that driving the tractor is o. k. for her up to the final few weeks, and that any one who takes even the smallest dose of aspirin as a pain-killer should remain at rest for the next few hours as a safetv nreeautinn. land that eating the drug in such j enormous quantities as a dozen or more tablets a day is reckless indeed. However, folks, I'm afraid we must Introduce a new plan to regulate this service. There are far too many letters like that of the fine Yankee mother and they are too interesting to dis pose of in the routine way This . new rule, an amended version of the present rule, is: SIGNED LETTERS, NOT MORE THAN ONE PAGE OR 100 WORDS LONG, PERTAIN ING TO PERSONAL HEALTH AND HYGIENE, NOT TO DI SEASE DIAGNOSIS OR TREAT MENT, WILL BE ANSWERED BY DR. BRADY IF A STAMP ED SELF ADDRESSED ENVE LOPE IS ENCLOSED, etc. Nine out of ten readers who write to me do conform with these instructions and get fair ly prompt and satisfactory an swers. It is the other reader who does not deign to heed any rules but emits a furious squawk when we fall to acknowledge his let ter. Now, folks, can't we play to gether amicably? If you will keep your letters within one page or 100 words in length and your queries within my province personal health and hygiene, not disease, diagnosis or treat ment I'll continue to give you the best service I can give. .
