Wilbur Mead, who arrived in the states July 8 from the European theater, is now en route to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, according to word re ceived by his father, George Meade, Lozier Lane. Pfc. Mead served with the Blackhawk di vision for five months in Europe. Troop Meeting Postponed The regular business meeting of the Ladies' Mounted Troop, auxiliary to the Jackson county sheriff s posse, which was sched uled for tonight, has been post poned until next week. The meeting will be held Tuesday at 8 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Homer Marx, King s highway. Sergeant Here Sgt. Edward L. Kyker is spending a 30 day convalescent leave in the city. visiting at the home of his mo ther, Mrs. Vivian Kyker, 424 South Peach street. Garrison is spending an 11 day furlough in the valley, visiting his wife, son and daughter at the family home on Route 4. Gar rison, who went Into the service in March and has been stationed at Camp Roberts, Calif., will re port to Camp Adair, Ore. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Gar rison, also reside on Route 4. Gets Bronse Star Major Don ald E. Moore, chief of surgical service at a Pacific base, has been awarded the bronze star and citation for work during a combat period In the Nether lands East Indies, according to word received by his parents.
