i DEDICATION SET T Opening Saturday of the "Chapel of Rocks and Roses", planned and built by the Rev and Mrs. D. E. Millard, located on South Oakdale avenue and King street, will take place at 12:05 p. m. when special dedica tory services are held for em ployees of the Jackson county court house and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, press and city. Open house for the benefit of the public will be held Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 p. m. Purpose of the chapel, Dr. Mil f lard said, "is to provide a beau tiful, dignified and distinctive setting for happy marriages in Southern Oregon, and to provide a wedding service which will be remembered with pleasure through life." The building, planned by the Millards for years, -includes the Millard residence and a wedding chapel, bride s chamber, and offices. It is surrounded by a fence made of petrified wood gathered over the valley for the past 17 years, directly back of which is to be a selection of fine roses. Over the entrance to the chap el, which has walls of light cream and a sand colored car pet, lighted by the new cold cathode neon lighting, is a priz ed bell. The chapel is oblong and capable of seating 60 people, A movable altar is to be at the farther end and will stand in front of red velvet drapes which separate the chapel from the Millard living room. Matching drapes adorn the large windows In the room. Facing King street, near the office entrance, is a fountain and pool, also made of petrified wood and colored rock, agates and chrystals, over which is a small arched bridge. A wishing well and seat will be added later according to the Rev. Mil lard. The Rev. and Mrs. Millard have made their home in the valley more than 20 years and he served in Christian churches In Medford and Central Point. A daughter, Joan, resides at the family home. Higher-yielding legume hays have been a feature of Missouri wartime farming. Nearly two thirds of the state's hay land Is now in legumes.
