Cradmus F. Starr is spending a Hve-day leave with his wife and three weeks old son at the family home, 316 Willamette street. Starr came home from Ft. Ord. Calif., where he is stationed with the infantry. Cars Collide Cars operated by Dyle C. Hood, 718 South Holly street, and Mrs. James Farrar, 435 Haven street, were damaged Monday when they col lided at Central avenue and Sixth street, according to an ac cident report filed with city po lice. Family Sought State police are searching for William J. Burton of Bend, who with his wife and small son are believed to be either at Diamond Lake or Crater Lake, before going to California. The family is want ed at Bend because of the serious illness of Mrs. Burton's mother, police said. Home from Service WAC Pvt. Ida M. Barrows and Eugene Earl, motor machinist mate, 3'c, are soending 21 day leaves from the service with their parents. Mr. and Mrs Leonard Earl, 502 West Fourth street Pvt. Barrows Is on furlough from Ft. Mason, Calif., and her brother, who ar rived m the States recently from 18 months with the Pacific fleet, will report back to San Francisco. Sends Paper Frank Clark, lectrician's mate third class serving on board the U-S.S. Cali fornia, sent a copy of the ship's paper, "The Cub," to Circula tion Manager Jerry Latham of he Mail Tribune this week to display the 16 page publication 'issued for men on the ship. Jlark also states that the "radio press" crtmes out each morning with war and homefront news. The paper is published twice monthly. Bickler Promoted Word has been received here of the pio motion of Jack Bickler to the rank of staff sergeant in the me dical corps. Bickler, owner of Ihe Meat Center, entered the lervice in October, 1943, and re ceived training at Camp Grant, Rockford, 111. His service in Eu rope includes England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany He is now in France awaiting shipment home with the 30th in fantry division. Servicemen Returning An nounced as having arrived at New York Monday aboard the U.S.S- John Erickron from Eu rope was T3 William G. Myers of Medford. Scheduled to arrive vesterday at Charleston, S. C, n the S.S. Lincoln Steffens were First Set. Laurence F. Rude of Ashland and TSgt. John R Steele, Medford. and Pfc- Glenn A. Lowe of Medford is expected to arrive in New York next Men-1 day on the Sea Pike. j 1 Trailer-house Burns Severe damage was caused to a trailer house belonging to R. J. Storm.! 410 Clark street, this morning when it was pt ablaze by a grass fire which got out of control, local firemen reported today.
