Edwards, son of Frank Edwards, 1105 W. Fourth street, has begun training as an aviation engineer of the army air force at Geiger Field, Spokane, Wash., according to word from his headquarters. Before going to Spokane, Ed wards has been stationed in Lib eral, Kans., and Dallas, Tex. . To Washington Miss Betty McKenzie, of 608 Catherine street, will leave Medford today for Everett, Wa'sh., where she will sing at the wedding of a sorority sister, Miss Alda Hesby, to be held in Everett Saturday. Both girls are members of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority of the University of Oregon. While north Miss McKenzie will visit Miss Helen Young, daughter of Mrs. Lois Young, both former residents here. She plans to re turn home next week. There will be a potluck dinner, and ice cream and coffee will be furnished. Those attending are asked to bring their own sugar and service. Holmes Graduates Richard David Holmes S-2c has graduat ed from Signalman's school at Pearl Harbor and is now sta tioned in the Marianas with a fleet replacement unit. He grad uated with the class of '44 from Medford high school, enlisted in October, '44 and graduated from boot camp at Farragut in Febru ary of this year. Holmes is the son of Mrs. Jiuth Holmes Boyd. From East Claude D. Greer, Sr., of Dayton, O., arrived In the city Wednesday to spend a vaca tion at the home of his son's fiance, Miss Maxine Smith, Char lotte Ann road. His son, Claude (Jay) Jr., who was stationed at Camp White, is expected home from Germany and plans to Join his father here. This is Mr. Greer's first visit in Medford and he plans to look over the valley with the intention of buy ing a home. Receives Aid Medal Capt. Dean W. Ford, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Ford of Jacksonville highway, has been awarded the aid medal for operational flying between India and China, ac cording to information received here by his parents. Capt. Ford has been stationed in India since the first of the year. He has been in the air corps about four years, being stationed first In this country as an instructor and then with the ferrying command. Visiting Here Flight Officer Farrel Snider is visiting in Med ford at the home of Mrs. Stella Wilson, 1009 W. Main street, mother of Mrs. Snider. For the last four months, Snider has been ferrying ships In the South Pacific. He is en route to Nash ville, Tenn., where he expects overseas duty. Ankle Broken A. J. Westfall, distribution supervisor of the Shell Oil Co., with headquarters in Portland, suffered a broken ankle last night in a pavement fall while returning to his room at the Jackson hotel. He was taken by Conger-Morris ambul ance to the Community hospital where his Injury was attended. Boyd On Furlough Robert E. Boyd, Jr., arrived in Medford Thursday for a 30-day furlough after a year in France and Ger many with the 12th infantry of the 4th army. He has the good conduct medal, infantryman's rifle badge, unit citation, and five campaign stars. He is visit ing his father, Robert E. Boyd, and other relatives. Completes Course Lt. Del Cooley, of Medford, recently completed an instructors' course at the army air field at Midland, Tex., and is en route to Carls bad, N. M., according to a re lease from the field. Lt. Flynn, 1134 Court street, local firemen reported this morn ing. The run was made at 3 o'clock. City Inspector J. A. Wolf, 718 West Fourth street, was em ployed by the city yesterday for the position of city electrical in spector with offices at the office of the city superintendent. Wolf, an electrical contractor, has made his home In Medford since 1927. Cars Collide Cars operated by Ellen McRae, West Prune street, and Josephine B. Morris, SI 6 Belmont ave nue, is visiting his parents In the city, on furlough from the army air field at Yuma, Ariz., where he is stationed as a cadet. Mor ris will leave Aug. 7 to report for further duty. Tarns Home Thomas Tams, TM3c, is visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Tams, 219 South Holly street, after completing advanced train ing at the naval school at New port, R. I. He will report to Schumaker base, Calif., for re assignment next week. Eagles to Meet Crater Lake Aerie and Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles will meet Thurs day at 8 p. m. at Eagles hall, 219 West Main street, for Initiation; the drill team will be in uniform. The evening will be concluded with a dance and all members are asked to be on time. Huson Home Sgt. Roy L. Huson, son of Mrs. Ina M. Huson, 436 West Main street, is visiting his mother, brother, Darell, and sister, Mrs. J. A. Phillips, while on a 17-day furlough from the army at Seattle. Sgt. Huson re turned to the States some time ago from service overseas. Men Sought Local police have been asked to locate John Paul Jordan, about 70, and re portedly living about a mile from Medford, and Robert W. Lemon, who moved to Medford some time ago from Salem. Any one having information about either man is asked to call police headquarters. En Route Home Set. Robert C. Taylor, 22, administrative clerk with the 15th army air force in Italy, arrived at Charles ton, S. C, last week by transport plane, en route home for 30 days, according to a notice from that port. Sgt. Taylor was In ducted Into the army in January, 1943, and went overseas to Italy in October, 1943. .
