WJ t It AM Niagara Falls, Ont., July 7 (U.R) William "Red" Hill, dare devil rivcrman, tonight "guar anteed" he would outwit the po lice and tho turbulent rapids 'of the Niagara river by floating in a steel barrel from Niagara Falls to Qiicenston, Ont., tomorrow as advertised. Niagara Parks Commission Police refused Hill a permit for his proposed trip, which he plans to make in the same pntch-up, old barrel his father used to "shoot" the rapids 11 years ago, and threatened to arrest him. Special patrols of park and pro vincial police will be on hand to prevent Hill from launching his barrel. But Hill said he had "secret plans" to slip through the police blockade and would be on his way before he could be stopped. Littrell Parts eked out a 10 to 9 win over Silver Dollar Grill in the opening game to go into a tie with Camp White for league leadership. The JayCees and Camp White went scoreless in the first two innings but Lasater of the sol diers broke the ice in the third with a home run when the bases were loaded. JayCees came back in their half of the third to tie the score on four walks, a hit and two errors. Mahr Gets Homer Mahr of the army got a homer in the fourth with the sacks empty, Lasater poked out a double in the fifth and Smith did likewise in the sixth, scor ing a runner ahead of him.
