Ray, vice-president of Southwest Airways, of Los Angeles, and W, J. R. Sims, a member of the com pany's organization, were in Medford Saturday conferring with officials of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. Sergeant Home T. Sgt. Del mer L. Wright has arrived in Medford from McCaw hospital in Walla Walla to spend a month with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Wright, 60 North Orange street. Sgt. Wright served three years overseas duty. He is a ra darman. - McKay Home R. B. McKay is home on leave after complet Ina his third term in the navy V-12 training program and is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. McKay, 1025 Reddy avenue. McKay will report July 2 to Washington university at Seattle for further training. - . Home From Navy Norbert Miksche, SAD2c, arrived home June 16 from the Seattle naval base where he is stationed as an instructor In electronics. Miksche is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Stewart, who received an honor able medical discharge June 7 i from the army at Baxter General hospital, Spokane, Wash., arrived here Friday night and is visiting at the home of his sister, Mrs. J. McCart is visiting his wife and daughter at the home of his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Wattenberg, Route 3, on a 30 day furlough from the air corps He returned to the U. S. recently from England where he has been stationed for the past six months as a radio gunner on a B-24. .The sergeant has been awarded the air medal with two oak leaf clusters, two bronze battle stars, and the presidential unit citation. Hogstrom, is on leave from the navy at San Diego, Calif., and is visiting at the home of his parents on Ross Lane. Hogstrom has just com pleted his boot training and will report back to the base next Thursday. i Receives Badge Pfc. Russell R. Mee, serving on Luzon with the Sixth Infantry division, has been awarded the combat infan tryman's badge according to in formation received by his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Mee, Shady Cove. He has been in the army a year and overseas for the past six months. Corporal Here Cpl. Delos Gilbert arrived home Thursday from Camp Hamilton, Calif., and is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Van R. Gilbert, 135 North Holly street, on a 15-day fur lough. He returned to the States in November, 1944, following 30 months' service with the air corps In the South Pacific. a - Fires Firemen were called to Schultz' car lot, 224 North Riverside avenue, Friday after noon to extinguish a fire in an old building on the lot. Accord ing to firemen, the building was badly damaged. Another run was made to the Riverside USO Friday night when an oil furn ace backfired. No damage was caused, it was said. t Home From Navy W. R. Bau man, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Bauman, 904 West Tenth street, Is home on leave from the navy after completing a pre-medical course at WiJJamette university. Bauman will be in Medford un til July 10 when he will report to Bremerton, Wash., where he will be stationed temporarily to wait call to a medical school. Son Born Mr. and Mrs. Gene M. Savage of Tacoma, Wash., are the parents of a son born June 11 at Tacoma. The child weighed eight pounds and four ounces and has been named Gary Gene. Mrs. Savage iff a daughter of .Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Nahss, 305 Portland avenue. This is the first child born to Mr. and Mrs. Savage. Son Here Michael Roblnette, student at the Naval Training school, Mare Island, Vallejo, Calif., left Saturday evening to return to the school after a brief visit here with his mother, Mrs. Jack Spalding, Route 1. Mrs. Spalding is here from San Francisco to spend the summer months.
