B. Collins, ATC (Maritime Sec
tion), is visiting at the home of

southwest Pacific since March,

Barber Leaving George Bar

from a several months' visit in

and families in Buffalo Gap,

Promoted Marmie Olson has
been promoted to chief warrant
officer with the Seabees, accord
ing to information received by
Mrs. Olson, the advancement
having been made June 11. He
is currently on Okinawa island.
Olson, with the Seabees since
1942, was formerly owner of the
Olson Electric company here.
This is his second tour of duty
overseas. Mrs. Olson makes her
home at 111 Newtown street.

liott and Calista Farrell of Med
ford and Miss Jean Lausman of
Portland returned yesterday
after a week's trailer camp va
cation at Shady Cove. Miss
Lausman, who is a sorority sis
ter of Miss Elliott, returned to
her home Monday evening. Miss
Lausman and Miss Elliott are
both students at the University
of Oregon and Miss Elliott ar
rived home to spend the sum
mer with relatives here.

William Corcoran, Ross Lane.
Carol Corcoran, elder of the two
brothers, is now a master ser
geant in the air corps stationed
at Assan, India, and Gerald Cor
coran has been advanced to chief
motor machinist on an LST of
the coast guard in the South Pa
cific. Both have been in service
about three years.
