Dempsters Leave Mrs. M. J Dempster left last week to join her husband In Portland; Mr. Dempster, employee of the Gen eral Petroleum corporation here for several years, was recently transferred by his company, to duty in the metropolis. Marine Home Pfc. Ralph L, Hite of the 21st Marine divi sion, is on a 30 day convalescent leave from the naval hospital at Oakland, Calif., and is visit ing his mother, Mrs. Georgia Smith, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Richey, Phoenix. Pfc. Hite was wounded while in action on Iwo Jima and has been awarded the purple heart. Returns Miss Beverly Wat son, 1121 West Tenth street, has returned from Vancouver, Wash., where she visited First Lt. Dan C. B. Barnett, who is recovering from wounds received while serving in the Philippine Islands with the 86th Infantry division. He holds the purple heart and bronze star medals. Lt. Is receiving treat ment at Oak Knoll hospital fol lowing a shell explosion on one of the South Pacific Islands While severely wounded, he has made satisfactory recovery and will soon be able to return to duty. Mrs. Bullis is employed with the navy as a long-distance telephone operator. Cadet Horn Cadet Danny Graham, student at the United States Military Academy, West Point, arrived in Medford Fri day from Chlckasha, Okla., where he has been training at the academy air base. Cadet Graham is convalescing from a recent illness. He will be here for about 10 days and will then report to Ft. Benning, Ga., for summer maneuvers. Young was one of three sur vivors from a crew of 10 men in his plane. He suffered severe burns. Sgt. Young entered the service June 1, 1943, and has received several decorations. He is the son of Roy Young, 327 N. Grape street, and Lena Young, 329 N. Riverside avenue. Auto Mishaps Cars driven by Burle Griffin, Route 4, and Oscar Nyberg, collided Thurs day on Sixth street causing slight damage to Griffin's auto, according to an accident report filed Friday.
