iciQKT MEDFOKD MAIL TRIBUNE W.dnesday, June 13, lUi TO MONTH EARLIER The executive committee of the Jackson County Civic Music Association met with Franklyn Smith Civic Concert Service rep resentative, in a luncheon meet ing at the Holland Hotel yester day. Present were Seth M. Bui lis, president of the association, the Mesdames M. N. Kogan, John Boyle, Richard Payne, Alex Kuehlthau and Miss Mabel Nan- "C Arrangements were concluded to hold the membership week on October 15, a month earlier than last year. "While no direct announce ment can be made at this time," Bullls said, following the meet ing, "options have been taken on some most interesting artists and attractions. This will assure Medford that dates on these ar tists and attractions are kept available for this city until con clusion of . the membership week." ' ' Mr. Bullls went over the an nuar financial statement, in the absence of Eugene Ferrel, treas urer, which showed that the asso ciation ended its fiscal year with a healthy credit balance with which to start the new season's activity. The Civic Concert Service rep resentative will come to Med ford on October 8, one week In advance of the membership week, to help the committee pre pare. The annual worker's din ner will be given, to start the membership week. F Corporal Warren Flchtner, son of Carl Flchtner, 631 South Holly street, has arrived In Medford following his honorable discharge from the army June 6. His wife, Helen, is stationed In Charleston, S. C, with the Spars. Flchtner is a veteran of 37 months overseas duty In the South Pacific and has a total of four years and nine months service In the army. He was In the Oregon National Guard two years prior to Pearl Harbor. Fichtner, who participated In three Invasions in the Pacific, has received the purple heart, arrowhead, Philippine liberation ribbon with one bronze star, the Asiatic-Pacific service medal, American defense, service medal, good conduct medal and the com bat Infantryman's badge. Cpl. Fichtner praised the work of the Filipino guerillas and told of the fried bananas and chicken served to him and his friends by civilians In the Philippines. Besides the corporal and his wife, Mr. Flchtner has two aona in the service, Clyde Ficht ner, Tlc, who Is expected home this week, and Earl Flchtner, the youngest son, who is overseas. Blunck of 280 "A", street, Ashland, were married in a double-ring ceremony June 10 at nine o'clock in the evening. The service was read in the Chapel of the Rocks and Roses by the Rev. Millard. The bride's par ents attended the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Blunck will make their home here, the groom being em ployed by the city. Edna Mae Stickcl and Leslie T. Wilson, both of Etna, Calif., were married In the chapel re cently. They will reside in Etna, where Mr. Wilson Is In business.
