Death was attributed to heart failure. The former California Oregon Power company em ploye had been employed in the public utilities In Brazil for the past 18 years. He Is survived by his wife, a son, Lytton, Jr., In the east, two daughters in Berkeley, Calif., and a daughter in the WACs, stationed in Paris. Three chil dren, making their home in Brazil, also survive as does a brother In the navy. Only 11 state universities in the ntion have more than a half million books in their libraries. ROGUE RIVER AIRMAN DIES OVER SINGAPORE Rogue River, May 25. S-Sgt. Sean C. Clark, who had been re ported missing in action since March 2, has recently been re ported killed in action over Singapore, according to word re ceived here. He Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Clark of Rogue River. His wife and two children also reside here. S-Gt. Clark was a gunner on a B-29. Boy Scout News Troop 8 held an interesting meeting Tuesday evening. There j was a small court of honor from which Gene Higglns, Ive McKin ney, Marshall Terg, Bert Rostell and Jack Bailey received awards. Also on the program was a 45-minute moving picture of a trip down Rogue river by Dr. W. W. Howard. Troop 8 will participate In the Memorial day parade next Wednesday. Betz, is now in a hospital In England. The message stated that while returning from a mission Over Europe the plane of which Betj was a crew member caught on fire. As the sergeant bailed out. the escape hatch fell and struck him on the head inflicting wound which required hospitalization. Sgt. Betz expects to return to his unit soon. The sergeant's brother, Sgt.
