FORGER IS GIVEN
THREE YEARTERM
Wyatt Drennan, Jr., charged
with forgery, was sentenced to
an indeterminate term of not to
exceed three years in state
prison by Circuit Judge H. K
Hanna yesterday on a plea of
guilty. Drennan was specifically
charged with uttering a spurious
check for $36 on the First Na
tional bank of this city. The
sheriff's office reported his oper
ations extended over a half
dozen cities and would total ap
proximately $1500. Attorney
Hilding Bengtson called Dr. C. I.
Drummond as a psychiatrist.
The defendant's counsel con
tended Drennan wrote the bogus
checks only when under the in
fluence of liquor. The state held
they were written in a steady
hand, and an effort had been
made to disguise the endorse
