Win Scholarships Two Medford students have received scholarship awards from Mills College, Oakland, Calif., according to an an nouncement by the college pub licity office. Miss Clara Margaret Daniels, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray mond S. Daniels, 407 Park ave nue, was awarded an academic scholarship for the year 1945 1946. She is in the Mills' class of 1947.' Miss Helen Jean Webb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam C. Webb, 819 Minnesota avenue, was awarded an ad vanced standing scholarship for the year 1943-1946. She will en ter Mills as a member of the class of 1948 from the Univer sity of Oregon. Turn Used Uniforms Into Military Post Camp White authorities ask that any cleaning establishments, hotels or other institutions who may have abandoned army uni forms or parts of uniforms left in their place of business to turn them over to Camp White. The war department said there Is a need for used uniforms and urged that any institution hav ing army clothes which are long uncalled for to turn them Into the military post. 'Bill Todd Elected Torch Club Prexy At First Meeting The Torch Club, a national or ganization made up of high school and out-of-hlgh-school boys, was organized at the YMCA recently.. Those initiated were Bill Todd, Bill Tarns, Dean Eppinger, Ralph Rothermel, Wayne O'Niel, Wayne Rose and Gene Higgins. Todd was elected president, Tarns vice president, Eppinger secre tary, Carroll Lantz treasurer, Rothermel sergeant at arms, O'Niel chaplain and Rose pub licity manager.- Most of the evening was spent in drawing up the constitution and planning the program for the next three months. The group will continue to meet throughout the summer. Next week's meeting will be an initiation followed by bowl ing. The May 9 meeting will con sist of a weiner roast, followed by games and a talk by Ben H. Schmidt on China and Chinese customs. Sunday.
