Society and CLUBS Miss Carol Crone Becomes Bride Of Dr. Luke Vorheis Details of the wedding of MIjs Carol Crone, daughter of Mrs. Myrtle V. Crone of Eugene, to Dr. Luke Vorhels, son of Mr and Mrs. M. L. Vorheis, Route 4, Box 27, have been received here. The wedding was solenv nized in University Presbyterian church, Madison, Wis., in March, with Dr. Lawer reading the service. Preceding the double ring ceremony the Rev. John Clay ton sang "I Love But Thee" and following the exchange of vows he sang the Lord's Prayer. The bride, given in marriage by Dr. Charles Thell, wore a dress of white tulle and satin with a fin gertip veil falling from a tiara of pearls. She carried a bouquet of eardenias and roses. Miss Jean Bryant, Eugene, bridesmaids, wore blue sheer with a match ing tiara and carried a bouquet of roses and sweetpeas. Dr. Emerson Collier of Port land served as best man and Dr. Robert Harrington of Los An geles as usher. Following the ceremony a re ception was held in the church parlor, after which the couple left for Chicago. Present for the wedding were the bride s moth er, and two sisters, Mrs. Ted Ty ler of Portland and Mrs. Tom Fair of Bend. Mrs. Vorheis is a graduate of Oregon State college and is also a graduate nurse. Dr. Vorheis graduated from Oregon State college and last September grad uated from the University of Oregon Medical School in Port land. He is at present a first lieutenant in the army medical corps reserve and upon com pletion of his nine months of internship allowed by the army expects to return to active duty. M. DEPT. STORE Chapter Sponsors Farewell Affair For Mrs. Bonney Central Point A farewell tea at the Masonic Temple in Cen tral Point last Saturday after noon honored Mrs. Bertha Bonney. Hostesses for the af fair were members of the Past Matrons' club of Nevita chap ter, O. E. S., assisted by the worthy matron, Mrs. Lloyd Stimson and chapter officers. The rooms were attractively decorated with a profusion of flowers in star colors and the lace covered tea table was cen tered with a special arrange ment of heather, which outlined Mrs. Bonney's name around a large mirror holding a floral star. White tapers in crystal candelbra completed the ar rangement. During the afternoon Mrs. Lloyd Morris sang several songs and Miss Lila Holt of Medford' presented piano selections. Miss Jean Kincaid, accompanied by Miss Patsy Faber, entertained with clarinet solos. Mrs. Bonney received many gifts and expressions of affec tion from the large group of friends at the tea. Officers and many members of the Spanish War Veterans' auxiliary attend ed and presented the honored guest with a gift and the Past Matrons club and Nevita chap ter presented a gift of apprecia tion for the service which Mrs. Bonney had rendered the chap ter. Mrs. Leonard Freeman, pres ident of the past matrons' group was general chairman in charge of the tea and her assistants were Mrs. Howard Jewett, Mrs. Lloyd Stimson, Mrs. Hensley Holt, Mrs. C. F. McKibbon, Mrs. Elmer Kyle, Mrs. Everett A. Faber and officers of the chap ter. Mrs. L. C. Scott presented each guest a gold star with a flower boutonniere. Those pour ing during the afternoon were Mrs. Stimson, Mrs. Faber, Mrs. Freeman and Mrs. Truman Brenner. Included among the guests were Mrs. Bonney's daughter-in-law, Mrs. C. A. Copple of Al buquerque, N. M., Mrs. Harold Head and son, Harlow, of Eu gene, and worthy matrons and other officers and members of the various valley chapters. Mrs. Bonney left Sunday to make her home in New Mexico with the Copples. Medford Woman Honored Guest. At Two Parties 1 Graduates Receive R. C. Mrs. John Young, chairman of the auxil iary, presided. Mrs. Caroline Reynolds, R. Mrs. Calvin Hammerly was honored at two social affairs Wednesday In observance of her birthday anniversary. Both were planned as surprises for Mrs Hammerly. ' In the afternoon Mrs. Rodney Schuler entertained a few friends at her home, 21 Willamette ave nue, in honor of Mrs. Hammerly. Arrangements of lilacs decorated the Schuler home and tea Was served. Invited guests were Mrs. Bayard Getchell, Mrs. G. G Stagg, Mrs. M. M. Kindle. Mrs Roy Schmidt, Mrs. H.
