Athletic events during the summer months will of neces sity be slim in the valley so a league would give players and spectators a diversion from their daily chores. Harry Morris of Ashland is reported to have a team lined up and the Elks club from the sister city is said to be flirt ing with the idea in an effort to get a league underway in ihat city. Inter-city gamei, which have always proved in teresting in the past, would be a possibility. The plan doesn't necessarily call for young athletes, but is a game which can be played by the older gents as well. It seems there are enough young and old men around Medford to get up four or five good teams to make up a round-robin schedule through the summer months. Al Simpson, the Medford high mentor, told us the other day he is vitally interested in formation of a softball league end would bu a logical man to handle such a plan, in our opinion. Someone has to take the initiative and contribute a lot of hard work to get such a plan organised and working, but surely there is someone in Medford who is interested enough in a softball league to undertake ih chore. Why doesn't somebody call a meeting of all interested in play ing or sponsoring teams and get the set-up all ready to roll when our weather settles for the sum mer months? Tl Answering the request of many wrestling fans, Promoter Mack Lillard announced today that Tony Morelli has been signed to meet the Gray Mask in the top main event of Medford armory's wrestling program next Thursday night. Walter "Sneeze" Achieu, the great Chinese mat star, and Gust Johnson, former coast champion will meet in the semi-windup. It is a rematch of last week's spec tacular match which Achieu won. The winners of the main event and the semi-windup will probably meet in the top match the following week, Lillard said. Harold (Blood and Guts) Da vidson, the tough little ex marine, will collide with Terri ble Tony Ross in the three round opener. L TITLE 409,287 WITNESS BIG LEAGUE TILTS New York, April 23. Not only is the initial kill extremely high but due to its prolonged toxic action the product re mains effective for several days, thus giving the opportunity for a thorough and complete clean up of the pest. While in most cases one application is sufficient, two applications may be found necessary in orchards where late colonies of spider mites have become established. DN-lll can be used as separate spray with out spreaders, stickers or wetting agents, or it may be used In combination with lead arsenate by the addition of Colloidal Z-l Spreader. Its use will not interfere with or complicate any coddling moth spray program ii properly timed nor complicate the subse quent removal of spray residue from the fruit.
