: Disabled Invited To D. A. V. Meeting Latest federal legislation con cerning disabled veterans w(ll be discussed at the regular meet ing of Jackson County Chapter 8, Disabled American Veterans, to be held Tuesday at 8 p. m., In the armory. Disabled veterans are invited to attend the meet ing and present any problems they may wish. The D.A.V. service office, room 205 Liberty building, is open from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. daily when claimants may se cure an interview with Frank Holbrook, service officer. Discharged Irl Groves, CBM, USNR, returned to his home in Medford this week after having been honorably discharged from the U. S. naval hospital, Oak land, Calif. He entered the serv ice in November, 1942, and served 22 months overseas in the south Pacific. Groves returned home last October and has been in the naval hospital since that time. The navy man is an instructor, stationed at St. Louis, Mo. Recovering L. O. Van Slyke, 916 West Tenth street, is suc cessful recovering from an op eration performed last week in Good Samaritan hospital, Port land, relatives stated yesterday. Mrs. Van' Slyke Is in Ashland with her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Merrill, while her husband is In the hospital. Snider has been promoted in grade and made chief clerk of the finance office of Camp Car son, Colo., a message to his mother, Mrs. Maude Snider, 528 Pennsylvania avenue, stated Fri day. Sgt. Snider has been in the army since 1942.
