Ryn ning reports the Ramsay Canyon cut-off road to the Evans Creek valley timber will be used as a late spring and summer route for logging trucks. The trucks during the winter have been using the roads through the army artillery range in the Beagle district. The government, Rynning says, did not gravel surface the road as planned, and gave no reason for not doing so. The work was to be done share and share alike by timber interests, the federal road bureau, and Jackson county. The reason was to divert traffic from the artil lery ranges and to provide a short cut to local mills. The road was not regarded as strong enough to stand up under the heavy traffic in the winter sea son. The government along with the Timber Products Co., are large holders of Evans valley timber.
