Dental Drill Doesn't Hurt G I's Like Civilians Dentist Claims Aboard Hospital Ship U.S.S. Hope, March 15 (Delayed) (U.PJ Take it from the dentists aboard the hospital ships in the forward Pacific areas, dental pa tients out here don't act the way most of them did in peacetime. They have lost their fear of the drill and other gleaming den tal Instruments. "Our patients seem to have a completely different attitude to ward dentists," Capt. Ira Ka minsky, 32, Newark, N. J., said. "In peacetime about fifty per cent of my patients asked for anasthesla for fillings, but none; of the boys here bother." Although tooth decay due to vitamin deficiencies Is much more prevalent among fighting men than among civilians, Ka minsky said, the fact that "we don't have to fuss around giving unnecessary anaesthesia enables us to handle two-thirds again as many patients in a day as we did in peacetime."
