LOCAL and unma From Armv Maurice E. Nelson, Eagle Point, was hon orably discharged from the army at Ft. Bliss, Tex., March 22 and Is now living with hi brother, Harley P. Nelson iu Eagle Point. On Honor Roll Several Jack ion county students are listed on the Oregon State college honor rtU for high grades made during the winter term at the school. Honor roll requirements are at least 12 hours with an average of 3.5 or above. Bush 111 Maynard Bush, 44 North Peach street, was re moved to his home Monday night after having been a pa tient in Community Hospital for a brief time. Buckles, 424 Newtown street, was issued a permit to reshingle a residence for a cost of approximately $300. Ex-Recruiter Here Lt. and Mrs. Grover C. Owen and son Dale, 9, arrived here Monday to visit Mrs. Owen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Silliman, now of Talent, and friends in Medford. Lt. Owen recently was released from active duty with the 9th air force in England after hav ing been in the army 33 years. He left here in 1932 after being on recruiting duty in Medford for nine years. (U.R) Soldiers' wives who absorb all the "bunk" being written on "how to handle the returning veteran" should have their heads exam ined, says. Faith Baldwin, auth or of books on love, marriage and the American home. She made the statement dur ing a visit here. Miss Baldwin advocates a nor mal approach to the reunion of the soldier and his wife. "If there is anything about a mar riage," she says, "the coup'le should be able to pick up from where they left off and continue from there. If they really love each other this can be done." Emphasizing her attitude to wards all the advice being cir culated on what to do about the returning soldier, Miss Baldwin added, "if the wives absorb all the talk and reading that's be ing circulated, psychiatrists had better come in and examine them. They will need the exam ination more than the veterans. People who circulate all these ideas about adjustments after the war evidently are trying to scare us, not only the wives but the mothers, too. Miss Baldwin admitted that it isn't possible to lay down a blanket rule for every couple. She expressed her belief how ever, that most returning sol dierr will adjust to civilian life satisfactorily.
